About the position
The Content Experience team at SurveyMonkey is seeking a Software Engineer with a strong problem-solving ability to join their remote team in California. The team is responsible for managing the content website, developing brand and content-creation tools, conducting A/B tests, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to drive business growth. The role involves optimizing the website experience, expanding international presence, and contributing to technical specifications and code development. The ideal candidate should have extensive programming experience, proficiency in web standards and frameworks, and expertise in JavaScript and build tools.

Requirements
- 8+ years of professional programming experience shipping production quality code
- Good command of web standards, accessibility, cross-browser compatibility, libraries, and frameworks
- Expertise in translating designs into mobile first, performant front-end experiences
- In-depth, hands-on knowledge of modern JavaScript and build tools (e.g., Node.js, React, Webpack, Storybook, CSS in JS)
- Passion to promote best practices and engineering standards to the team, to lead adoption of new technologies, and to mentor junior developers
- Experience with performance enhancement methods and technologies such as Memcache, Redis, Varnish, object and fragment caching
- Strong interest in doing code reviews, writing tech specs, collaborating within and across teams, and troubleshooting issues
- Experience working with headless content management systems
- Experience with design systems, responsive designs, Web experimentation, TypeScript, GraphQL, accessibility, localization, and visualization
- Experience building, provisioning, deploying, and maintaining large web applications running at scale
