What you will be doing: In this position, you will initiate and support various program closures, including cases with no Medicaid, no PCA agency or worker, no Care Coordinator, out-of-state moves, non-utilization, no contact, declined services, excluded living situations, and transitions to long-term care. You will process Change of Status (COS) communications such as provider or Care Coordinator updates, hospital admissions and discharges, legal representative changes, demographic updates, living situations, marital status, and address changes. You will also monitor Direct Service Messaging (DSM) daily and respond promptly to discovery requests from the legal department. This role includes frequent communication with legal representatives, clients, Care Coordinators, PCA agencies, supervisors, and managers by phone and email. You will assist with mail processing, including operating mail equipment, printing, monitoring DSM, handling returned mail, and contacting agencies and clients when address issues arise.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Three years of clerical experience
  • One year of experience in public health, health care services, senior services, medical assistance programs, health education, nursing, medical social work, health services administration or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of filing, typing, entering data, maintaining records, taking shorthand, and using and completing forms.
  • Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for automating, developing, implementing, or administering database systems
  • Identifies a need for and knows where or how to gather information; organizes and maintains information or information management systems.
  • Manages and Organizes Information: Identifies a need; gathers, organizes, and maintains information; determines its importance and accuracy, and communicates it by a variety of methods.
  • Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.

  • College education from an accredited college with a course emphasis in social services or a related field may substitute for the required experience.
