GA TECH Sr. ServiceNow Developer
About The Position
The Senior ServiceNow Developer is a senior technical contributor responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise ServiceNow applications and platform capabilities. The role partners with product owners, service managers, stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, maintainable solutions aligned with institutional priorities. It calls for deep ServiceNow platform expertise, architectural judgment, mentorship of other developers, and adherence to platform standards, governance, and best practices. The position is with the State Agency GA TECH. Local candidates are strongly preferred, but candidates working 100% remotely are acceptable. The stated contract duration is 3–6 months, with a listed start date of November 30, 2026, and end date of May 31, 2027. The work arrangement is remote. The role operates under broad supervision. The developer will design and build upgrade-safe applications using App Engine Studio, scoped applications, and platform APIs; develop role-aware experiences with Configurable Workspace and UI Builder; and implement integrations and automation using Scripted REST APIs and IntegrationHub patterns where applicable. The developer will contribute to platform governance, Agile delivery, documentation, release processes, troubleshooting, and technical leadership. A bachelor's degree or higher in a related field is preferred, as are the listed ServiceNow and ITIL certifications.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience in enterprise or large-scale environments.
- At least 3 years building and supporting custom applications using App Engine Studio.
- At least 3 years working within Agile or sprint-based delivery models.
- At least 3 years designing and building upgrade-safe, maintainable applications using App Engine Studio, scoped applications, and platform APIs.
- At least 3 years developing experiences using Configurable Workspace, UI Policies, Client Scripts, and UI Builder.
- At least 3 years implementing and supporting inbound and outbound integrations using Scripted REST APIs and IntegrationHub patterns where applicable.
- At least 3 years applying platform guardrails, naming conventions, access controls, and architectural best practices.
- At least 3 years participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and change review with cross-functional teams.
- At least 3 years providing guidance to developers, reviewing code, and promoting consistent development standards.
- Strong server-side scripting experience, including Script Includes, Business Rules, and Scripted REST APIs.
- Advanced proficiency with GlideRecord, query optimization, and transactional logic.
- Experience with Flow Designer, including reusable actions, subflows, and orchestration patterns.
- Solid understanding of ACL design, role hierarchy, and access evaluation order.
- Experience designing and supporting Configurable Workspace and UI Builder-based experiences.
- Familiarity with Platform Analytics, including indicators, breakdowns, and dashboards.
- Experience with REST-based integrations and JSON data exchange.
- Strong technical documentation skills, including design notes and implementation guidance.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification.
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification or equivalent ITSM experience.

Responsibilities
