About the position
Terray Therapeutics is seeking a motivated and experienced senior scientist to join their molecular design group. The candidate will contribute to hit-to-lead and lead optimization efforts across multiple programs, utilizing the company's vast chemical datasets and proprietary wet-lab + computational platforms. This interdisciplinary role involves close collaboration with the chemistry, biology, machine learning, and data science teams. The core responsibilities include designing small molecules, developing workflows for hit investigation, designing combinatorial libraries, and developing and evaluating predictive models for virtual screening and design.
Responsibilities
- Design small molecules using computational tools and data from screening platforms
- Develop workflows to analyze and investigate hits from screening
- Design combinatorial libraries to drive small molecule programs
- Collaborate with the machine learning team to develop and evaluate models for predicting affinity and other properties
- Apply predictive models for virtual screening and design
- Communicate molecular design strategy
Requirements
- Experience in molecular design and hit-to-lead and lead optimization efforts
- Proficiency in using computational tools for small molecule design
- Familiarity with structural models and ligand-based data analysis
- Ability to develop workflows for triaging and investigating hits from screening platforms
- Knowledge of designing combinatorial libraries for small molecule programs
- Experience in developing and evaluating models for predicting affinity and other properties of interest
- Collaboration skills with chemistry, biology, machine learning, and data science teams
- Strong communication skills for conveying molecular design strategy
