About The Position

Factor, a brand of HelloFresh, is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Specialist to lead workplace safety initiatives at a distribution center. Working with the Manager of Safety and Loss Prevention, the specialist will be visible on the production floor, promote the company’s safety vision, improve safety performance, and champion a culture of safety. The role provides safety and environmental expertise, supports OSHA compliance, investigates incidents, develops and delivers training, and collaborates with operations and other departments. It also oversees the relationship with site security and supports investigations into inventory shrinkage, deliberate damage, and product theft. Responsibilities may be adjusted to meet changing business and operational needs. The position calls for someone who can communicate and influence across organizational levels, resolve challenging or ambiguous situations, identify process issues, deliver influential presentations, and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment. Requirements

At least 3 years of occupational safety experience, with knowledge of manufacturing or industrial EHS.
Expertise in OSHA compliance, especially powered industrial trucks, lockout/tagout, and strain and sprain prevention.
Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence people at all organizational levels.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Proficiency with Google apps, including Gmail, Drive, and Sheets.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or Environmental Health & Safety; candidates with a high school diploma and 4+ years of EHS experience will also be considered.
Safety certification such as CSP, ASP, or OHST.

Responsibilities

Promote workplace safety and health with integrity and a strong regard for employee wellbeing.
Provide subject matter expertise in areas such as environmental management, compliance, occupational safety, risk management, and occupational health.
Ensure OSHA compliance at a HelloFresh/Green Chef facility, including powered industrial trucks, new-hire and ongoing safety training, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, chemical safety, recordkeeping, and OSHA 300 Logs.
Assist management with accident and injury investigations and root cause analysis.
Serve as a subject matter expert for management on safety and security questions.
Promote visibility of site-level HSE initiatives, including behavior safety, safe work permits, safety observations, and near-miss reporting; recommend improvements.
Evaluate safety meeting effectiveness and determine appropriate mentoring for safety meeting facilitators.
Collect and analyze data to identify safety and injury trends and develop corrective actions.
Ensure contractors and visitors follow site safety policies.
Assist with the site emergency action plan and liaise with local first responders when needed.
Conduct Job Safety Analyses of routine and non-routine site tasks.
Promote safer forklift operations through training, observation, and coaching.
Develop training materials, including toolbox talks and standard operating procedures.
Manage the relationship with site security and ensure security services are provided for the distribution center.
Assist with inventory shrinkage and investigations into deliberate damage or product theft as needed.
Support quality, food safety, production, logistics, and other departments as needed.
Apply continuous improvement principles to improve processes and results.
