About The Position

Factor, a brand of HelloFresh, is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Specialist to lead workplace safety initiatives at a distribution center alongside the Manager of Safety and Loss Prevention. The role works directly with production teams to promote safety, improve performance, and foster a strong safety culture. The specialist provides subject matter expertise across environmental management, compliance, occupational safety, risk management, and occupational health. Responsibilities include supporting OSHA compliance, training and recordkeeping; investigating incidents; evaluating site safety initiatives; conducting job safety analyses; and coordinating with management, contractors, visitors, security providers, and local first responders. The position also supports other operational departments and uses continuous improvement principles to improve processes and results.

Requirements

At least 3 years of occupational safety experience, with knowledge of manufacturing or industrial EHS.
Expertise in OSHA compliance, especially powered industrial trucks, lockout/tagout, and strain and sprain prevention.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and Google applications, including Gmail, Drive, and Sheets.
Able to listen effectively, build rapport, communicate at all levels, share ideas confidently, and serve as a trusted workplace safety advisor.
Able to address ambiguous or challenging situations, meet or exceed goals, and improve efficiency.
Able to diagnose system or process issues and identify options for resolving them.
Able to deliver presentations that inspire and influence change.
Adaptable and able to drive results in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or Environmental Health & Safety; applicants with a high school diploma and 4+ years of EHS experience will also be considered.
Safety certification such as CSP, ASP, or OHST.

Responsibilities

Promote workplace safety and health with integrity.
Provide expertise in environmental management, compliance, occupational safety, risk management, and/or occupational health.
Ensure OSHA compliance at a HelloFresh/Green Chef facility, including powered industrial trucks, new-hire and ongoing safety training, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, chemical safety, recordkeeping, and OSHA 300 Logs.
Assist management with accident and injury investigations and root cause analysis.
Serve as a subject matter expert for management on safety and security questions.
Maintain visibility of site-level HSE initiatives, evaluate their effectiveness, recommend improvements, and determine appropriate mentoring for safety meeting facilitators.
Collect and analyze safety data to identify trends and develop corrective actions.
Ensure contractors and visitors follow site safety policies.
Assist with the site emergency action plan and liaise with local first responders when needed.
Conduct Job Safety Analyses of routine and non-routine tasks performed on-site.
Promote safe forklift operation through training, observation, and coaching.
Develop training materials, including toolbox talks and standard operating procedures.
Manage the relationship with site security and ensure security services are provided for each distribution center.
Assist with inventory shrinkage and investigations of deliberate damage or product theft as needed.
Support quality, food safety, production, logistics, and other departments as needed.
Apply continuous improvement principles to improve processes and results.
