Senior Project Manager (PE Required) - Civil Land Development
About The Position
The Senior Project Manager is a highly experienced civil engineering professional responsible for managing complex, high-impact land development projects and leading client relationships. The role provides strategic oversight, technical leadership, and successful execution across multiple projects. It guides proposal development, negotiates contracts, and leads client presentations. Internally, the Senior Project Manager mentors project managers, engineers, and CAD staff, ensures adherence to QA/QC standards, and coordinates staffing and resource planning with department leadership. The position requires a strong understanding of zoning regulations, multi-agency permitting, and interdisciplinary coordination, along with exceptional project planning, problem-solving, financial management, and leadership skills. It connects project execution with long-term departmental growth.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in land development civil engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of Civil 3D software.
- Strong understanding of zoning regulations, multi-agency permitting, and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Exceptional project planning, problem-solving, financial management, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities
- Oversee and lead large-scale, multidisciplinary civil engineering projects from concept through closeout.
- Serve as the primary client liaison for strategic project planning, contract negotiations, and high-level communication.
- Lead scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and resource planning for multiple concurrent projects.
- Provide high-level technical guidance and approvals on designs, submittals, and regulatory strategy.
- Mentor and develop project managers, engineers, and CAD staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team culture.
- Identify, pursue, and lead major business development and proposal efforts.
- Ensure adherence to internal QA/QC processes and drive continuous improvement in project delivery.
- Represent the company at public meetings, hearings, and client presentations.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on financial performance, departmental goals, and hiring needs.
- Maintain strong relationships with municipal agencies, consultants, and developers.
