Senior Project Manager (Oracle and ERP)

CompassX GroupAtlanta, GA
$140,000 - $160,000Hybrid

About The Position

CompassX is partnering with an enterprise client on a broader AI-driven transformation initiative, connecting a growing set of applications into their existing Oracle E-Business Suite environment. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead this initial phase, coordinating across teams and driving a structured, milestone-based delivery approach. This will most likely be an independent contractor role (e.g., 1099) and for an initial duration of 5 months that could be extended.

Requirements

  • Proven project/program management experience on ERP integration or connectivity programs, ideally involving Oracle EBS
  • Strong command of waterfall-style project delivery - structured phases, formal milestones, and disciplined scope, schedule, and budget management
  • Solid grounding in core PM fundamentals: project planning, risk and issue management, stakeholder management, status reporting, and change control
  • Excellent communication skills - comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and leadership, and translating technical progress into business-relevant updates
  • Experience at a senior/experienced level - comfortable owning a program independently rather than needing significant oversight
  • Fortune 500 client experience, whether as a career consultant or as an independent contractor
  • Based on the East Coast, ideally able to co-locate with the team in the Atlanta area
  • Experience coordinating geographically distributed teams across the US and Europe specifically
  • Exposure to programs involving application integration, middleware, or connecting modern applications into legacy/core enterprise systems
  • Familiarity with AI-driven transformation initiatives or programs modernizing how enterprise systems interoperate

Nice To Haves

  • PMP certification or equivalent formal project management training is a plus, though not required if experience is strong

Responsibilities

  • Lead project management for a program connecting new and existing applications to Oracle EBS as part of a broader AI-driven transformation initiative, driving planning, scheduling, and milestone tracking through a structured, waterfall-oriented delivery approach
  • Own and maintain the project plan, schedule, and RAID log (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies), keeping leadership and stakeholders informed of status at every stage
  • Coordinate across distributed teams, including counterparts based in Europe, to keep work aligned across regions and time zones
  • Manage scope, timeline, budget, and stakeholder communication through the initial ~5-month phase of the program, including formal status reporting and steering committee updates
  • Facilitate project governance — status meetings, milestone reviews, change control, and sign-offs — keeping the program moving through defined phases and gates
  • Work closely with technical leads and client stakeholders to keep delivery on track, resolve blockers, and surface risks early before they threaten scope or timeline
  • Manage change requests and scope changes through a formal, documented process appropriate to a waterfall delivery model
  • Support resource planning and coordination across workstreams, ensuring the right people are engaged at the right phases of the program

Benefits

  • The posted compensation range is provided as an annualized equivalent for pay transparency purposes. Final compensation will be structured as an hourly rate or other contract-based arrangement and will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, scope of work, engagement type, market conditions, and business needs.
