Project Manager (Implementation PM)
About The Position
A government-sector client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Implementation Manager to support a large-scale child support system modernization initiative. The role will provide leadership in planning, coordinating, and overseeing implementation activities for the rollout of a new statewide case management system. The position is approximately 90–100% remote, with occasional onsite meetings as needed in Madison, Wisconsin. Candidates must reside in Wisconsin or relocate there within 30 days of the start date at their own expense, and must be available during core Central Time business hours. The contract runs through June 30, 2027, with potential extensions. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and provide their own equipment.
Requirements
- 11+ years of professional experience in project implementation, project management, organizational change management, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing implementation and communication plans.
- Strong leadership experience managing large-scale technology or business transformation initiatives.
- Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication abilities.
- Experience supporting enterprise-wide change management, implementation, and training efforts.
- Experience coordinating activities across technical, business, and vendor teams.
- Strong problem-solving and issue-resolution skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must currently reside in Wisconsin or be willing to relocate there within 30 days of the start date at their own expense.

Responsibilities
- Lead implementation planning and execution activities for a major statewide system modernization project.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive implementation and communication plans.
- Coordinate implementation readiness activities across project teams and stakeholders.
- Partner with project management, organizational change management, training, technical teams, and vendor partners.
- Track implementation progress, identify risks and issues, and ensure timely resolution.
- Facilitate meetings, status reviews, and implementation readiness assessments.
- Establish and monitor acceptance criteria for project milestones and deployment phases.
- Oversee pilot implementation activities and statewide rollout efforts.
- Ensure training, communications, and operational readiness activities are completed prior to deployment.
- Coordinate functional and technical implementation activities across multiple workstreams.
- Develop executive-level reports, presentations, and status updates.
- Support organizational change initiatives associated with system adoption.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners.
