About The Position

This role is with Nielsen’s Gracenote division, which provides entertainment metadata and technology used for content search, discovery, and navigation. The Senior Product Marketing Manager will own go-to-market for a portfolio extending Gracenote’s structured metadata from title-level information to scene-, chapter-, and clip-level video understanding using multimodal AI. This is a build-it role focused on shaping an emerging market and creating the portfolio narrative, segment positioning, launches, enablement, and market intelligence. The role develops distinct value propositions for platform and distribution buyers, content owners, and the advertising ecosystem; maintains messaging and competitive intelligence; gathers customer insights and informs product requirements; and leads launch, early-access, adoption, and iteration programs. It also equips sales and partnership teams with commercial materials, addresses buyer-facing technical and trust questions in collaboration with product, legal, and security, supports strategic opportunities, and contributes to analyst relations, industry events, content, and demand-generation campaigns. The manager works closely with product management, engineering, sales, business development, partnerships, corporate marketing, legal, security, and privacy, and regularly briefs executives. A bachelor's degree is required; an MBA or equivalent experience is welcome.

Requirements

  • Seven or more years of product marketing experience, including meaningful senior- or lead-level experience in B2B technology, data, or media technology.
  • Demonstrated command of segmentation, positioning frameworks, messaging development, launch management, competitive analysis, and enablement.
  • Working knowledge of the video ecosystem, including streaming and CTV, FAST and ad-supported models, linear and live content, device platforms and operating systems, distributors and aggregators, studios, and content packagers.
  • Understanding of how content metadata supports discovery surfaces, program guides, recommendations, and ad targeting, as well as how revenue flows through the media and entertainment ecosystem.
  • Ability to discuss multimodal AI and modern retrieval concepts accurately, including embeddings and vector search, semantic and natural-language search, ontologies and taxonomies, knowledge graphs, entity resolution, and API and data-feed delivery.
  • Experience taking new or category-creating products to market while reference customers, category language, or buyers are still being established.
  • Ability to market the same underlying technology to structurally different buyer groups while maintaining a coherent story.
  • Exceptional writing ability, including positioning statements, executive narratives, and partner FAQs.
  • Proven ability to align product, sales, partnerships, legal, and executive stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or equivalent experience.
  • Advertising technology exposure, such as contextual targeting, dynamic ad insertion, brand suitability, or measurement.
  • Familiarity with content metadata standards, industry consortia, or interoperability initiatives.
  • Experience with data licensing or data-product business models.
  • International or multi-region go-to-market experience.

Responsibilities

  • Author the market narrative for scene-level video intelligence, including the problem, market timing, value of a shared platform, and Gracenote’s position.
  • Develop segment-specific value propositions for platform and distribution buyers, content owners, and the advertising ecosystem.
  • Build and maintain messaging architecture, proof-point libraries, and terminology standards, and promote consistent language across teams.
  • Maintain competitive intelligence on AI video-understanding vendors, platform-native capabilities, metadata providers, and ad-tech players.
  • Run structured customer discovery with prospects, design partners, and internal commercial teams, and document segment insights.
  • Provide evidence-based market requirements and prioritization input to product teams, and co-author market requirements documents.
  • Own portfolio launch strategy and execution, including launch tiering, readiness criteria, cross-functional plans, timing, and post-launch measurement.
  • Create collateral and narratives for early-access and design-partner programs, including partner decks, evaluation frameworks, success criteria, and reference stories.
  • Track post-launch adoption, identify where messaging or execution is ineffective, and drive improvements.
  • Produce sales and partnership enablement materials, including pitch narratives, decks, battlecards, demo storylines, one-pagers, FAQs, and objection-handling guidance.
  • Develop and maintain buyer-facing responses to questions about content rights, model training boundaries, retention, tenant isolation, explainability, and classification accuracy, working with product, legal, and security.
  • Support strategic and design-partner opportunities where the narrative is still being developed.
  • Brief analysts, help shape coverage of the emerging category, and represent the portfolio at industry events.
  • Collaborate with corporate marketing and demand generation on campaigns, web content, bylines, webinars, and case studies.
  • Brief executives regularly.
