Senior Product Manager, AI & Query Platform

Nucleus Security•, (Multiple States)

About The Position

The Senior Product Manager will own product direction for Nucleus’s AI & Query Platform team, advancing the company’s AI and query capabilities. The role sits at the intersection of AI, data, analytics, and cybersecurity, shaping how users query and explore security data and use natural language and AI agents for increasingly sophisticated workflows. Working closely with engineering and design, the Senior Product Manager will determine what to build and why, and turn foundational technical capabilities into intuitive, valuable customer experiences. The role includes responsibility for product strategy and roadmap, query and data exploration capabilities, AI-powered experiences and agents, reusable AI platform capabilities, and discovery of new customer use cases. The position involves taking ambiguous ideas from discovery through definition, validation, delivery, and adoption; working directly with customers and internal teams; defining quality measures for AI experiences; and adapting product direction as AI technology, customer expectations, and the cybersecurity market evolve. The role is technical and requires regular collaboration with engineers on datasets, schemas, APIs, query behavior, agent tools, and AI system behavior, but does not require writing production code.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of product management experience, including meaningful ownership of a technical B2B or enterprise software product.
  • Experience shipping AI/LLM-powered, data, analytics, search, query, developer-platform, or similarly technical products.
  • Strong technical fluency and comfort working with engineers on APIs, schemas, datasets, query behavior, integrations, and system capabilities.
  • Experience turning technically sophisticated capabilities into intuitive product experiences.
  • Strong product judgment and ability to prioritize based on customer value rather than technical novelty.
  • Experience operating in ambiguous problem spaces where technology and customer expectations are changing quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts simply.
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers and translate customer problems into product opportunities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building AI agents, copilots, natural-language interfaces, or LLM-powered enterprise applications.
  • Experience with SQL, query languages, analytics platforms, search products, or data visualization.
  • Experience building platform functionality used by multiple product teams.
  • Experience defining evaluation or quality frameworks for nondeterministic AI functionality.
  • Familiarity with modern agent concepts such as tool or function calling, retrieval, context management, agent orchestration, or MCP.
  • Cybersecurity, vulnerability management, exposure management, or security analytics experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own product strategy and roadmap for the AI & Query Platform team.
  • Guide the evolution of query and data exploration capabilities.
  • Develop AI-powered experiences and agent capabilities, including core AI platform capabilities reusable across the Nucleus platform.
  • Discover and prioritize new AI, analytics, and data-driven customer use cases.
  • Define product requirements and tradeoffs across usability, performance, reliability, flexibility, and technical complexity.
  • Create early-access and customer feedback programs to validate capabilities before broader rollout.
  • Define success measures and feedback loops for AI and query capabilities.
  • Understand how security teams work with vulnerability and exposure data and identify opportunities to improve workflows through AI and better data interaction.
  • Partner with engineers on APIs, datasets, schemas, query capabilities, agent tools, and other platform primitives.
  • Translate technical capabilities into product experiences customers can understand and use.
  • Take ambiguous ideas from discovery through definition, validation, delivery, and adoption.
  • Determine whether to build a specific customer experience or a reusable platform capability.
  • Define and evaluate the quality of AI-powered experiences, including cases where traditional deterministic acceptance criteria are insufficient.
  • Work directly with customers and internal teams to understand problems, validate solutions, and prioritize investments.
  • Maintain a clear roadmap while adapting to changes in AI technology, customer expectations, and the cybersecurity market.
  • Communicate product direction and tradeoffs across engineering, design, go-to-market teams, and leadership.

Benefits

  • 100% company-paid health, dental, vision, life, and short-term disability insurance options.
