Senior Product Manager - Investment Platform

Global X ETFsNew York, NY
Hybrid

About The Position

Global X operates a large and growing ETF platform across multiple markets. Our investment desk runs on proprietary technology built in-house for portfolio management, trading, and the operational workflow around it. We are hiring the founding product owner for that platform — in effect, the operating system for our trading and portfolio management desks — measured on adoption and business impact rather than delivery milestones. The mandate is to make expert work easier and give the business more capacity: guided workflows where a process is multi-step, expert surfaces where they genuinely help. Deciding where that line falls is the substance of the role — in a regulated domain where accuracy is a compliance matter and your users will tell you immediately when something is wrong. This is a product role for someone who builds. A clickable prototype is the preferred form of a specification. We are an AI-forward team, and product is expected to move at the same speed as engineering. You will help shape the product function as the platform and the team grow around it.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in product management, product ownership, or senior business analysis for investment or trading technology, buy side or platform vendor.
  • Hands-on output: prototypes, demos, internal tools, or analyses you built yourself and would enjoy showing us, and fluent daily use of AI tooling to produce them.
  • Working knowledge of the investment operations lifecycle: portfolio construction, order and execution flow, holdings, corporate actions, benchmarks, NAV, and reconciliation.
  • Ownership of a platform build for expert users, including the adoption effort and the judgment about what to simplify.
  • A commercial instinct: you have made a business case, quantified its return, and been held to it.
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Nice To Haves

  • ETF-specific experience: creation and redemption, basket construction, primary market workflow, and index tracking.
  • 1940-Act fund and SEC-registered adviser context; recordkeeping (Rule 204-2), Regulation S-P, and 15(c) board reporting.
  • Institutional investment platforms as a buyer, implementer, or product owner; or technology as part of a firm’s client-facing narrative.
  • advanced degree or certification (CFA, MBA) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap, sequenced by business value and defensible to stakeholders who each want their own priority first.
  • Decide what becomes a guided flow and what stays an expert surface, and own the defaults — grounded in observed usage, not the loudest request.
  • Design workflows that hold up across markets, calendars, and regions rather than encoding the practice of a single desk.
  • Track ETF market structure developments and regulatory change, and translate their implications into product direction.
  • Prototype your own proposals with AI product tooling and put something clickable in front of a portfolio manager rather than describing it.
  • Do your own analysis. Query the data, quantify the case, and bring evidence rather than anecdote.
  • Write requirements and acceptance criteria an engineer can build from directly, and run delivery against a visible, prioritized backlog.
  • Own the business case. Quantify where the platform creates capacity, reduces risk, and shortens time to launch, and make that case to leadership.
  • Drive expansion beyond the initial desk: identify the next adopters across teams and affiliated businesses, and build the plan to bring them on.
  • Own adoption: readiness criteria, sequencing, champions, training, and the communications that carry each stage of rollout.
  • Define how AI-assisted and agent-initiated actions behave in the product — what a user sees, what requires approval, and what is recorded.
  • Partner with compliance and risk so controls, approval thresholds, and audit evidence are designed in, and assess risk with regard for the firm’s reputation and obligations.
