Senior Product Manager, LSP Platform

Altana•Washington, DC
•$185,000 - $220,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Altana is the network for trusted trade. Its AI-powered product network helps governments and businesses build a more resilient and secure global economy while keeping trade flowing. The LSP Platform team builds products for logistics service providers (LSPs), including freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers. The products help LSPs keep pace with government regulation and modernize business processes through Altana's network. They support collaborative customs processes to screen and clear shipments faster, protect customers from risk and delays, and offer trade intelligence services to shippers. As Senior Product Manager for the LSP Platform, you will own the roadmap for a strategic product area and work with major logistics companies to understand goods movement, compliance and risk challenges, and opportunities to make Altana a native part of LSP workflows. You will partner with engineering, design, data science, and go-to-market teams, and be accountable for product adoption, usage, and customer outcomes. The role may be based in Brooklyn, New York; Boston, Massachusetts; or Washington, D.C., with hybrid work flexibility. The stated U.S. base salary range is $185,000–$220,000. The company notes that compensation depends on relevant factors and that competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers. Depending on the role, compensation may also include a discretionary bonus or variable compensation plan. Altana lists benefits for full-time employees, including flexible time off, paid parental leave, medical, dental and vision coverage, disability and life insurance, a 401(k) program, commuter benefits, wellness resources, pet insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and Dependent Care FSA access.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of product management experience.
  • Experience shipping B2B products that customers rely on; experience with data-intensive, API-driven, or enterprise workflow products is described as ideal.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn how complex industries operate; prior logistics expertise is not required.
  • Ability and willingness to work closely with customers, listen, build trust, and treat them as product-building partners.
  • Ability to own outcomes, define and track customer success, iterate, and take responsibility for fixing what is not working.
  • Comfort using AI in daily work for prototyping and code contributions.
  • Understanding of APIs, EDI, ETL/ELT, JSON, and integration architecture, with the ability to work in depth with engineers and customer IT teams.
  • Strong interest in user experience and reducing friction in complex workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at an early-stage or high-growth company, defining a product area amid ambiguity rather than inheriting a mature roadmap.
  • A track record of embedded customer work, such as design partnerships, pilots, or on-site discovery, that shaped a product and led to measurable adoption.
  • Experience building platform, API, or integration products that fit customers' existing systems and workflows.
  • Comfort working with data-heavy or AI/ML-driven products and translating complex model outputs into actionable user decisions.
  • Exposure to logistics, freight, customs, trade compliance, or supply chain technology.
  • Experience with products serving multiple stakeholders with competing incentives, such as marketplaces, networks, or multi-party workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Define the roadmap for Altana's LSP products, balancing near-term customer commitments with long-term platform investments.
  • Develop a deep understanding of LSP business models, operations, and customer relationships across forwarding, brokerage, and carriage, and translate that understanding into product priorities.
  • Set and track success metrics tied to customer impact, such as fewer holds and detentions, faster clearance, lower compliance costs, and new LSP revenue.
  • Improve the experience of brokers, compliance analysts, and operations teams working at high volume under time pressure.
  • Coordinate with Enterprise and Public Sector product teams so that information submitted by shippers, processed by LSPs, and received by governments forms a coherent, trusted story.
  • Work directly with customers through discovery, design partnerships, pilots, and post-launch feedback, and bring those insights to the team.
  • Write clear product requirements and prototype with AI to test ideas before production code is written.
  • Drive adoption, usage, and customer outcomes, and continue iterating after features ship.

Benefits

  • Flexible Time Off policy.
  • Paid parental leave: 14 weeks for non-birthing, adoptive, and foster parents and up to 26 weeks for birthing parents, paid at 100% of base salary.
  • Medical, vision, and dental benefits with employer contributions.
  • High-deductible health plan described as 100% employer-paid for employees, plus an employer contribution to a Health Savings Account.
  • Flexible Spending Account option.
  • Life, short- and long-term disability, and AD&D insurance at no cost to employees.
  • Guideline 401(k) retirement savings program.
