About The Position

BambooHR is hiring a Senior Product Manager to own the product direction and operation of its Agent Platform. This is the first dedicated product role for a platform used by teams building agents. The role inherits production consumers and accumulated architecture, and is responsible for creating the roadmap. The position covers the agent execution layer, triggers, governance, and instrumentation that makes agent work measurable and billable. The product manager will lead decisions about the legacy platform and its migration to a new runtime, prioritize work based on consumer impact, and coordinate with teams building agents and with stakeholders responsible for workplace context and signals. This is a remote position available in the state listed on the job posting. Employment with BambooHR is contingent on passing background and credit checks.

Requirements

  • Feel aligned with BambooHR values.
  • At least 5 years of product management experience in platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing products.
  • Technical depth in execution systems, workflows, or eventing, including the ability to reason about durable execution, retries, and safe migrations.
  • Experience owning products for internal platform consumers, with intake discipline, published contracts, and a visible roadmap.
  • Proven ability to drive alignment across teams without direct authority.
  • Judgment to make migration decisions when engineering convenience and consumer safety conflict.
  • Comfort with AI and agent systems and with rapidly changing patterns.
  • Instrument before asserting, document decisions, and sequence work by consumer impact.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with agent frameworks, LLM orchestration, or workflow engines such as Temporal.
  • Leadership of a migration or sunset for a system with live production consumers.
  • Product experience with usage-based pricing or metering.

Responsibilities

  • Own product direction for the Agent Runtime, including durable execution, human-in-the-loop gates, auditability, and capacity and reliability as the number of agents grows.
  • Lead the architecture decision for the legacy agent platform.
  • Create and own a dated migration plan to a new runtime, sequenced by consumer impact to avoid unexpected regressions in downstream AI experiences.
  • Own agent governance as a product, including the trust framework each agent action must pass through, using BambooHR platform authorization and attribution patterns.
  • Define and drive usage instrumentation, including instigation flags, output lifecycle events, and a metering schema that preserves monetization options.
  • Run intake and prioritization for teams building agents, and publish guidance on whether to build on the existing platform or wait for the new runtime.
  • Define and maintain the boundary between the agent platform and AI experience surfaces, with named consumer stakeholders for decisions that affect them.
  • Coordinate agent triggers, including which platform events agents may respond to and requirements for subscribing to those events.
  • Represent agent consumers in decisions about context and signal standards, defining what agents need from workplace signals and participating in decisions about their use.
  • Establish runtime capacity and reliability reporting that leadership can act on.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health, life, and disability insurance.
  • Generous leave policies, including 4 weeks of vacation, 12 company holidays, parental leave, and volunteer time off.
  • 401(k) plan with up to 6% company match.
  • $2,000 Paid-Paid Vacation bonus.
  • Employee Assistance Program through Headspace.
  • Professional development.
  • Remote work flexibility.
