About The Position

Armada is seeking a Senior Product Manager to contribute to product strategy for Armada's federal and defense-facing solutions. This role involves engaging directly with defense and government customers to understand their mission and warfighter edge compute requirements, translating these into clear product requirements, and collaborating cross-functionally to address capability gaps across Armada's hardware, platform, monitoring, and ISV application layers. This is a hands-on position for a self-starting product manager operating at the intersection of Armada's product organization and the defense and intelligence community. The individual will determine their own methods and approach on new assignments, exercise judgment across ambiguous and sensitive requirements, and frequently advise engineering, field, capture, and go-to-market partners on product matters within the federal domain. Additionally, they will help build and champion standardization across the team by establishing consistent processes, frameworks, and best practices that scale with growth. The role's core function is to define and deliver platform capabilities that meet the unique requirements of defense, intelligence, and federal mission environments, such as disconnected operations, classified workloads, zero-trust security, and compliance with government standards, while maintaining alignment with Armada's commercial platform roadmap.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience, Master's and 6+ years, or PhD and 3+ years, with 5+ years in product management for infrastructure, platform, cloud, or defense-related compute products
  • Active U.S. security clearance at the Secret level required
  • Experience in the defense industry, particularly around compute used in warfighter or other mission-critical scenarios
  • Demonstrated ability to understand defense customer problems and translate them into specific, actionable product requirements
  • Strong background in distributed systems, cloud platforms, edge computing, or infrastructure software
  • Demonstrated ability to determine methods on new assignments and exercise judgment across variable, ambiguous factors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with technical, defense, and business audiences
  • Direct experience supporting U.S. Government or Defense customers (DoD, IC, or federal agencies)
  • Strong understanding of mission environments, classified systems, and defense operational constraints
  • Familiarity with secure system design, zero-trust principles, and classified deployment models
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience with ISV application ecosystems within defense or government environments
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native technologies
  • Experience delivering hardware-integrated or edge computing products for defense, industrial, or public sector customers
  • Experience with edge computing platforms in defense or austere environments
  • Experience supporting ATO processes or RMF documentation
  • Prior military, intelligence, or government service experience

Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with defense and government customers to understand edge compute requirements for warfighter and other mission-critical scenarios
  • Translate complex defense customer problems into clear, specific, and actionable product requirements
  • Identify and prioritize gaps in Armada's solution set - spanning hardware, platform, monitoring, and ISV applications - needed to address defense and federal use cases
  • Contribute to the roadmap for Armada's federal product area, from requirements definition through development, QA, and launch
  • Partner with engineering to scope and deliver solutions that meet defense-grade requirements for security, reliability, and mission assurance
  • Determine methods and approach on new initiatives, exercising independent judgment given ambiguous, sensitive, or classified requirements
  • Serve as the primary product interface between defense customers, field teams, and engineering
  • Advise sales, capture, and field teams on technical and product strategy for federal opportunities
  • Support proposal development, technical evaluations, and customer briefings as the product subject matter expert for federal solutions
  • Translate mission requirements from DoD, IC, and federal agencies into scalable platform capabilities
  • Balance classified and unclassified customer needs while maintaining a unified core product architecture
  • Drive secure edge-to-cloud capabilities supporting disconnected, intermittent, and denied environments
  • Partner with security and compliance teams on DoD security requirements, NIST, RMF, and zero-trust architectures, including classified and air-gapped deployment models
  • Guide product features needed to support ATO processes and government compliance requirements
