Oracle•Nashville, TN
•$87,800 - $209,500

About The Position

Oracle is seeking a Product Engineer who combines hands-on software development experience with product judgment to make OCI cloud native services easier for developers and operators to use. The role involves understanding customer problems, defining and prioritizing solutions, and writing production code. The engineer owns a defined feature area from discovery through implementation, release, and adoption, collaborating with product, engineering, design, and customer-facing teams to build developer tools and platform integrations. Success is measured by whether customers can complete their work more easily using reliable, maintainable software responsive to their needs. The position includes independently identifying customer needs and workflow gaps across CI/CD, infrastructure automation, Kubernetes, and application operations; defining requirements and priorities; and using customer feedback, adoption data, and telemetry to guide improvements. The engineer owns a bounded platform component or feature, builds APIs, integrations, and automation, improves testing and deployment practices, creates documentation and adoption guidance, validates releases with customers, and participates in maintenance, incident response, and on-call support for owned components. The role also involves working with service and outbound product managers, solution architects, and other customer-facing functions to analyze customer requirements and create product documents; managing scope, roadmap, priorities, milestones, and dependencies; communicating risks; and aligning cross-functional teams around customer outcomes. The engineer develops expertise in cloud platforms, DevOps, Kubernetes, and product management, and improves customer workflows and operational practices based on observed results.

  • Own a bounded platform component or feature, designing, implementing, testing, and releasing production software within established architecture.
  • Build APIs, integrations, and automation that connect OCI services and simplify developer and operator workflows.
  • Improve automated testing, deployment processes, observability, and secure development practices.
  • Deliver documentation, examples, demonstrations, and adoption guidance; validate releases with customers and early adopters.
  • Participate in operational maintenance, incident response, and on-call support for owned components.
  • Work with service PMs, outbound PMs, SAs, and other outbound functions to identify, analyze, and prioritize customer requirements and create necessary product documents.
  • Combine customer evidence, technical investigation, and product data to resolve issues and make informed tradeoffs.
  • Independently manage scope, roadmap, priorities, milestones, and dependencies; communicate delivery risks and recommend adjustments.
  • Build alignment across product, engineering, design, support, and field teams to deliver shared customer outcomes.
