About The Position

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to help customers adopt and scale applications using Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE), Container Instances, and Functions. This is a hands-on, customer-facing individual contributor role working directly with developers, platform engineers, and technology leaders to understand requirements, recommend architectures, and turn technical challenges into working solutions. The architect will design and build prototypes, troubleshoot complex integrations, guide migrations, and help customers progress from evaluation to production. The role works closely with product management, engineering, and field teams to address adoption barriers and turn successful implementations into reusable architectures, automation, demonstrations, and technical guidance. The role encompasses customer discovery and architecture recommendations, hands-on solution development, migration and modernization, deployment automation, production readiness, technical problem-solving, product and engineering partnership, and technical enablement. Solutions span OKE, Container Instances, Functions, registries, networking, IAM, storage, API Gateway, and other OCI services. The architect will also create reference architectures, Terraform configurations, deployment examples, technical guides, workshops, labs, presentations, articles, and demonstrations for customers, partners, and field teams.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in solutions architecture, cloud engineering, platform engineering, software development, or related technical roles.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and operating production Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux, networking, storage, identity, and application security.
  • Experience with OCI or comparable public-cloud platforms, including managed Kubernetes, container runtimes, registries, and serverless applications.
  • Experience with developer toolchains, Terraform, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes deployment tools such as Helm or GitOps.
  • Ability to write, test, and debug application and automation code using Python, Go, Java, shell scripting, or comparable languages.
  • Strong customer discovery, troubleshooting, and communication skills, including the ability to explain architectural tradeoffs to technical teams and executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated success coordinating across product, engineering, and customer teams, navigating ambiguity, and translating technical work into measurable customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer workloads, business objectives, operational capabilities, and technical constraints.
  • Recommend container and serverless deployment patterns and explain tradeoffs in scalability, security, reliability, cost, and operational ownership.
  • Build proofs of concept, sample applications, demonstrations, and practical integrations across OKE, Container Instances, and Functions.
  • Connect solutions with registries, networking, IAM, storage, API Gateway, and other OCI services as needed.
  • Assess existing container platforms and application dependencies; help customers plan migrations, validate compatibility, address architectural gaps, and plan a path from evaluation to production.
  • Create reference architectures, Terraform configurations, deployment examples, and technical guides.
  • Integrate infrastructure provisioning and application delivery with customer CI/CD workflows to make successful patterns repeatable across environments.
  • Guide customers on capacity planning, scaling, availability, upgrades, observability, security, backup, and recovery.
  • Validate critical assumptions through testing and clarify service responsibilities, customer responsibilities, and operational procedures.
  • Diagnose deployment, networking, identity, storage, and application integration issues; develop and validate workarounds where appropriate; coordinate with engineering and support to resolve adoption barriers.
  • Translate customer experience into reproducible technical findings, clear requirements, and business impact.
  • Contribute to architecture and API reviews, validate proposed capabilities, and help product teams prioritize improvements.
  • Develop workshops, hands-on labs, presentations, technical articles, and demonstrations for customers, partners, and field teams.
  • Turn lessons from individual engagements into broader adoption programs and measure impact on customer readiness and deployment success.
