Senior Product Designer — Growth

OpenArt AI•San Carlos, CA

About The Position

OpenArt is hiring a Senior Product Designer focused on Growth for its AI creative platform for visual storytelling. The designer will own the product surfaces that help visitors become creators and creators become customers, including onboarding, first-run experiences, paywalls, upgrade prompts, pricing, credits, and checkout. The role takes work from initial concept through tested experiments and turns successful variants into permanent product patterns. The designer will shape the first five minutes of the user experience, helping people move from uncertainty to creating a result they are proud of. They will translate business goals such as activation, conversion, expansion, and retention into design hypotheses, and collaborate with growth product managers and data partners to design, interpret, and iterate on experiments. The role also focuses on making plans, pricing, and credits easy to understand, and teaching users through timely in-product guidance rather than manuals. The position is based in the Bay Area, with an on-site or hybrid work setup and close collaboration with founders and a global engineering team. Visa sponsorship is available.

Requirements

  • Experience moving a revenue or activation metric through design, such as onboarding, paywalls, pricing, or checkout, with before-and-after results to demonstrate the impact.
  • Experiment literacy, including forming hypotheses, developing variants, understanding sample sizes, and honestly interpreting results, including unsuccessful experiments.
  • Strong UI craft and ability to produce polished variants quickly.
  • Use of AI in daily practice, such as prototyping in code, Claude, Figma Make, or similar tools, and informed opinions about where AI is useful.
  • Data curiosity and interest in learning what happened after a product change ships.
  • Bias toward shipping and learning from real tests.
  • Ability to partner with product managers and marketing and contribute a design perspective early.
  • Resilience when experiments do not succeed and ability to treat results as information.
  • Strong communication skills, including explaining why a design change may convert rather than only why it looks better.
  • Comfort with a weekly experiment cadence while maintaining design craft.

Nice To Haves
