Senior Product Designer (Growth)

EarnIn•Mountain View, CA
•$204,957 - $250,503•Hybrid

About The Position

EarnIn is seeking a highly creative, self-motivated Senior Product Designer to join its Growth team, which focuses on acquisition, onboarding, referrals, and winbacks. The role involves taking business bets without predefined specifications or known solutions, exploring alternatives quickly, and responding to experiment data. AI is a core part of the design process, used to explore directions, prototype faster, and improve the quality of shipped work, with the designer applying judgment to define innovative, high-quality user experiences. The designer will support growth squads and collaborate with product, engineering, data, legal, and brand partners to bring ideas through testing and launch. The position is hybrid in Mountain View, with two days per week in the office. The full-time Mountain View base salary range is $204,957 to $250,503, plus equity and benefits.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience designing consumer digital products.
  • A portfolio demonstrating problem framing, explored directions, and the outcomes influenced by the work; it should include recent work showing use of AI in the design process.
  • Experience on a growth or experimentation team, including designing test variants, interpreting results, and iterating after a loss or learning.
  • Strong product sense and behavioral empathy, including the ability to hypothesize why someone may or may not take an action.
  • Strong design craft and attention to details that affect whether a design works.
  • A bias for action and sound judgment, prioritizing a valid test that tests the hypothesis over either a poorly designed test or excessive polish.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and enthusiasm for open-ended problems.
  • Daily use of AI tools in design work, such as Claude, Cursor, or v0, and/or a method developed or adopted to improve speed or quality.
  • Working prototypes as a normal part of design output and curiosity about technical skills that can improve design work; an engineering background is not required.
  • Critical judgment of AI output and accountability for the quality of results.

Nice To Haves

  • Front-end coding experience.
  • Conversion design experience for landing pages and onboarding.
  • Experience in fintech or another regulated industry.

Responsibilities

  • Explore distinct solutions independently from business hypotheses to support growth squads, then iterate based on data.
  • Present clear recommendations, explain the reasoning behind them, and incorporate feedback to reach decisions.
  • Design toward measurable outcomes by understanding the hypothesis, target metric, and existing member flows.
  • Ship the fastest credible test of an idea and drive it through blockers to launch with product, engineering, data, legal, and brand partners while maintaining design quality.
  • Review experiment results with the team, learn from unsuccessful tests, and update understanding of members to inspire new experiences.
  • Build working prototypes with AI tools to answer UX questions and compare solutions, using static screens when appropriate.
  • Develop and share an AI-assisted design playbook and effective ways of working with the design team.
  • Keep experiences clear and honest to maintain members' trust.
