About The Position

EarnIn is seeking a highly creative, self-motivated Senior Product Designer for its Growth team, which focuses on acquisition, onboarding, referrals, and winbacks. The role involves starting with business hypotheses rather than predefined specifications, rapidly exploring solutions, and adapting to sometimes counterintuitive data. AI is central to the design process: the designer will use it to explore more directions, prototype faster, and improve shipped work while applying sound judgment to UX quality. The designer will support growth squads, develop and communicate recommendations, and design experiences around measurable outcomes. They will collaborate with product, engineering, data, legal, and brand partners to launch tests, evaluate results, and use learnings—including unsuccessful tests—to develop better experiences. The role also involves building AI-assisted prototypes and sharing effective new working methods with the design team. All experiences must remain clear and honest, reflecting members’ trust in EarnIn with their money. This is a full-time hybrid position based in Mountain View, California, with two days of in-office work per week. The base salary range is $204,957 to $250,503, plus equity and benefits.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience designing consumer digital products.
  • A portfolio showing problem framing, explored directions, and outcomes influenced by the work, including recent work demonstrating use of AI in the design process.
  • Experience on a growth or experimentation team, including designing test variants, reading results, and iterating after learnings or losses.
  • Strong product sense and behavioral empathy, including the ability to hypothesize why people may or may not take an action.
  • Design craft and attention to details that affect whether a design works.
  • Bias for action and sound judgment, balancing launching a valid test quickly against shipping work that does not test the hypothesis or over-polishing.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and energy for open-ended problems.
  • Daily use of AI tools in design work, such as Claude, Cursor, or v0, and/or a method built or adopted to improve speed or quality.
  • Working prototypes as a normal part of the design output, and curiosity about technical skills that can improve design work.
  • Critical judgment of AI output and accountability for the quality of the result.

Nice To Haves

  • Conversion design experience for landing pages and onboarding.

  • Present clear recommendations, explain the reasoning behind them, and incorporate feedback to reach decisions.
  • Design toward measurable outcomes by identifying the hypothesis, the metric it should affect, and the existing member flows.
  • Ship the fastest credible test of an idea and drive it through blockers to launch with product, engineering, data, legal, and brand partners while maintaining design quality.
  • Review experiment results with the team, learn from unsuccessful tests, and update understanding of members to inform new experiences.
  • Build working prototypes with AI tools to answer UX questions and compare solutions, using static screens only when sufficient.
  • Develop and share AI-assisted design methods and working practices with the design team.
  • Keep experiences clear and honest.
