Senior Product Designer — Agentic Creation

About The Position

OpenArt is hiring a Senior Product Designer to shape the experience of its AI creative platform for visual storytelling. The designer will craft end-to-end creative workflows, from a creator expressing an idea through shaping and refining the work into a finished project. The role includes designing the behavior and communication of an AI creative partner, organizing capabilities so experiments can grow into projects, and ensuring that product complexity does not burden creators. The designer will also explore new ways for designers to work with AI, including prototyping with and directing AI. This is a high-collaboration role working with founders and a global engineering team in the Bay Area, on-site or hybrid. Visa sponsorship is available.

Requirements

Experience changing a product's structure or system, not just its visual appearance.
Experience designing for AI or other systems where behavior is part of the interface.
Use AI in daily design practice, such as prototyping in code, Claude, Figma Make, or similar tools, and have informed views on where it is useful.
Strong UI craft, with polished and considered designs that serve clarity.
Strong product writing; product words are treated as part of design.
Product mindset and attention to how the whole product works together.
Ability to bring structure to ambiguity.
Collaborative approach and comfort with feedback and co-creation.
Growth mindset and enjoyment of rapidly changing tools.
Strong communication skills, including explaining why a product structure is appropriate.

Responsibilities

Design the end-to-end creator experience, from initial intent through producing finished work.
Create workflows that let creators direct, observe, refine, and continue work without losing context.
Design the AI agent's words and behavior, including how it asks questions, communicates progress, and handles mistakes.
Organize product capabilities and projects so quick experiments can grow into larger projects without extra filing or system-management burden.
Keep the product simple and clear as its capabilities expand.
Explore and establish new ways for designers to prototype with, direct, and design AI behavior.
Contribute to product strategy and structure, not only visual polish.
Collaborate closely with founders and the global engineering team.
