About The Position

Daikin Applied is seeking a Senior Agentic UX Designer to design experiences in which AI agents understand user intent, make decisions, take actions, and collaborate with people in understandable, trustworthy, and controllable ways. The role translates human and agent capabilities into user journeys, conversational and adaptive interactions, prototypes, and interaction patterns. It includes defining human-agent workflows and suitable levels of autonomy and human oversight, prototyping agent behaviors, validating concepts with users, and using analytics to understand their impact on end users. The designer works within Daikin Applied’s UX process of discovery, ideation, visualization, and testing. They advocate for user needs and collaborate across design, content, business, brand, product, engineering, and research to explore, test, and implement customer-focused solutions. The position is based in Plymouth, Minnesota, with hybrid or remote work available.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of experience designing mobile, web, and embedded user interfaces.
Experience leading discovery activities and user testing.
Significant experience with customer discovery techniques, including user interviews, usability testing, and journey mapping.
Strong grasp of information architecture, design patterns, and interaction design for data-heavy applications.
Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
Expertise using Figma, Sketch, or an equivalent tool.
Advanced knowledge of design systems and how to apply them while creatively solving design problems.
Understanding of HTML, CSS, and other web technologies.
Strong written and verbal command of English.

Nice To Haves

At least 8 years of experience designing mobile, web, and embedded user interfaces.

Responsibilities

Work within Daikin Applied’s UX process, including discovery, ideation, visualization, and testing.
Advocate for user needs and foster shared understanding of the customer-centered intersection of design, content, business, and brand.
Facilitate customer discovery sessions to uncover user needs, preferences, and pain points.
Design low-friction solutions, validate them through iterative testing, and refine them based on user feedback.
Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, designers, and researchers using lean and agile methodologies.
Guide end users, development teams, and partners, and support customer-focused decision-making rather than a technology-first mindset.
Develop user journey maps and task flows to represent end-to-end experiences and customer behavior.
Create low-fidelity wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using Daikin Applied’s design system.
Lead design reviews with design, product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
Plan and conduct usability testing and user research, interpret analytics, and advocate for validation to improve new and existing features.
Define human-agent workflows and appropriate levels of agent autonomy and human oversight, prototype agent behaviors, and validate concepts with users.
