About The Position

The Senior Principal Engineer - Aeroderivative Operability & Systems Integration serves as a recognized technical authority providing advanced technical leadership across aeroderivative plant and package integration. The role drives engineering excellence in operability, systems integration, and lifecycle technical risk management for complex aeroderivative solutions, ensuring safe, reliable, and risk-mitigated outcomes throughout the asset lifecycle. The position integrates plant, package, controls, electrical, and mechanical interfaces into complete, operable aeroderivative power plant solutions. It requires broad systems thinking, strong technical judgment, and an understanding of how design decisions affect installation, commissioning, operation, maintainability, and fleet reliability. The role defines technical direction, leads cross-functional integration, supports innovation and new technology applications, establishes standards, and mentors engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • At least 15 years of experience in engineering and technology as a recognized technical expert in operability, systems integration, or complex multidisciplinary power system applications.
  • At least 10 years of experience in aeroderivative power plant systems, package integration, or plant-level engineering applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex technical issues and drive alignment across a matrixed, global engineering organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of aeroderivative products and package systems, particularly LM6000, LM2500, TM2500, and LS100 applications.
  • Direct experience in technical risk management, commissioning support, field issue resolution, and lifecycle engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical authority for aeroderivative operability and systems integration, guiding engineering decisions across LM6000, LM2500, TM2500, and LS100 platforms.
  • Lead end-to-end systems integration and cross-functional alignment across package design, fluid systems, controls, electrical, mechanical, and balance-of-plant interfaces.
  • Identify interface risks, lead complex issue resolution during startup and transient operation, and formalize mitigation strategies across the asset lifecycle.
  • Support new product introduction and technology integration, including emerging applications such as hydrogen, grid support, and data centers.
  • Establish technical standards and apply lessons learned from fleet operations.
  • Mentor engineers to strengthen systems thinking and technical rigor across the organization.
  • Drive engineering excellence across package execution and ensure systems perform safely and reliably from commissioning throughout their operational lifecycle.
