The Senior Patient Access Services Representative performs basic and complex Patient Access Services Representative activities at Erie County Medical Center Corporation (ECMCC). The role serves as a non-supervisory technical lead, monitoring workflow and adjusting work assignments to distribute work equitably according to volume and complexity. It differs from the Patient Access Services Representative role through increased responsibility and more difficult assignments. The position may be filled through the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). During the program, appointment may be non-competitive without an examination, provided candidates meet the title’s minimum qualifications. The posting states that within one year of permanent appointment, NY HELPS employees are expected to convert to competitive status without taking a civil service test and receive the rights and privileges of competitive-class employees. While permanently serving in a NY HELPS title, employees may participate in qualifying promotion examinations.
