About The Position

Grace of God Alliance Church (GGAC) is a small, close-knit church in Newark, California, established in 2006 to share the Gospel in the San Francisco Bay Tri-City Area. The church offers services in Cantonese and Mandarin, actively supports missions at home and abroad, and seeks to be biblical, evangelistic, missions-minded, prayerful, caring, sanctified, and committed to mobilizing its members for service. The Senior Pastor serves as GGAC’s main spiritual guide, setting and communicating the church’s vision, preaching and teaching Scripture, developing leaders, and caring for the congregation. The pastor will help fulfill the church’s mission to preach the Gospel, make disciples, serve the community, and glorify God. The position requires licensing with The Christian & Missionary Alliance. Requirements

A clear calling from God to pastoral ministry.
Ordained or eligible for ordination with the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
Proficiency in English and in either Cantonese or Mandarin.
Deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ, with a life reflecting spiritual maturity and integrity.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Passion for evangelism, discipleship, and community outreach.
Agreement with the church’s statement of faith and theological position.
Licensing with The Christian & Missionary Alliance is required.

Responsibilities

Discern and clarify God’s vision for GGAC’s future, and communicate it in a compelling way that inspires and activates the congregation.
Guide and mentor pastoral staff and ministry leaders, fostering teamwork, spiritual growth, and accountability.
Oversee strategic planning and implementation of church-wide initiatives.
Serve as the primary preacher, preparing sermons prayerfully and communicating biblical truths with clarity and practical application.
Equip and empower lay leaders to teach and share God’s Word effectively.
Identify, mentor, and train emerging leaders, and create and manage a leadership development program for ministry roles.
Cultivate a Christ-centered culture of unity, love, and service.
Provide pastoral care across age groups and cultures, including biblical counseling, prayer, and support during crises, grief, and celebrations.
Oversee a system of care so members feel known, valued, and supported, including emotional support and visits to sick, elderly, and homebound members.
Model prayer and spiritual discipline and encourage the congregation’s personal relationship with Christ.
