About The Position

Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and the hourly workforce to ensure daily activities—including driver deliveries, trailer loading and unloading, cross-docking, and customer service—are executed consistently with company service and cost objectives. The supervisor directly oversees most processes, including workforce and equipment scheduling, and makes corrective-action and disciplinary decisions up to the written-warning level. The role participates in hiring and customer meetings as needed, reviews truck runs using account locations, volume, costs, customer requirements, and private-fleet utilization, and reviews daily orders for additional private-fleet opportunities. The scheduled shift is Friday through Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Leadership members must be present 30 minutes before the shift begins and may need to work on another shift as needed. Flexibility is required during peak season and holidays, when staffing is short, and according to business needs. The supervisor leads people, logistics operations, financial controls, safety, customer experience, and fleet and asset utilization. The position also performs other projects and tasks assigned by the supervisor. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function. The role requires willingness to travel as necessary and work the required schedule at the specified location, and completion of a Penske employment application, background investigation, and drug screening. Physical and mental demands include reading, verbal and written communication, remembering and analyzing information, and understanding instructions and guidelines. Duties may require standing, walking, sitting, handling and feeling objects, and reaching with hands and arms. The associate must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
