About The Position

The Senior Operations Manager coordinates distribution and warehousing in a cross-dock operation and leads daily operations for local and regional big-and-bulky home delivery networks. The role includes managing operational budgets, P&L, labor costs, service performance, customer escalations, staffing, and direct reports. It also supports customer relationships, service improvements, and facility resources needed to meet company goals.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate distribution and warehousing in a cross-dock operation.
• Build and manage the annual operational budget, P&L, and labor costs.
• Lead daily operations for local and regional big-and-bulky home delivery networks.
• Reduce damage rates, missed delivery windows, and return product costs.
• Resolve high-escalation customer complaints involving damaged property or late arrivals.
• Confer with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in the area.
• Develop plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employees.
• Participate in marketing and sales efforts and ensure assigned facilities have the resources needed to meet company goals and objectives, including P&L responsibilities.
• Manage direct reports, including the Team Assistant Manager of Operations and Terminal Manager.
• Recruit and retain contract carriers.
