About The Position

This is a fully remote contract role for a Senior ML Engineer contributing to an AI training project. The work focuses on model development, training and inference systems, numerical computing, performance optimization, and Python. The role is coding-heavy and involves creating, solving, reviewing, and validating challenging machine-learning engineering tasks. Tasks may include implementing or modifying models, building reproducible training or inference workflows, optimizing memory or throughput, debugging numerical or system-level failures, and checking correctness and performance against objective requirements. The position is approximately 15 hours per week, with a flexible schedule. Compensation is output-based, with payment per task that meets project specifications; time per task may vary, and minimum submission requirements apply. Selected candidates are expected to begin their first task within 24–48 hours after completing onboarding.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
  • Strong professional or research experience in machine learning.
  • Practical proficiency with Python and coding agents.
  • Experience using coding agents with Python in a workflow.
  • Equivalent tools may be considered when the candidate demonstrates directly relevant depth.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a well-established technology company, AI laboratory, research organization, or other recognized engineering environment is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional open-source or academic experience may also qualify.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate machine-learning models, training pipelines, inference systems, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Implement model components, data pipelines, evaluation systems, and numerical methods.
  • Build reproducible programmatic workflows using Python and command-line tools.
  • Create, solve, review, and validate machine-learning engineering tasks.
  • Implement or modify models and construct reproducible training or inference workflows as needed.
  • Optimize memory or throughput, debug numerical or system-level failures, and verify correctness and performance requirements.
