About The Position

The Hardware Expert will create, solve, and evaluate engineering challenges that require sound judgment, quantitative reasoning, and reproducible answers. The role is suited to engineers who have owned meaningful technical work, such as taking a hardware system into production, validating a model against test data, developing a rigorous verification approach, or diagnosing a difficult failure. The work connects first-principles reasoning with practical constraints and produces results that can be independently verified. The work includes developing realistic, self-contained hardware engineering problems and clear reference solutions. Solutions may use engineering calculations, simulations, scripts, experimental reasoning, or other suitable methods. Tools such as Python, MATLAB, Simulink, SPICE, Julia, C/C++, and test automation platforms may be used when relevant. This is a fully remote contract role for 15–20 hours per week, with a flexible schedule. Compensation is output-based, with payment per task that meets project specifications. Selected candidates are expected to start their first task within 24–48 hours after onboarding.

Requirements

  • Experience working with Coding Agents is a must.
  • Significant professional or research experience in hardware engineering, product development, systems integration, testing, validation, reliability, or failure analysis.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a substantial engineering problem, such as a product or subsystem that reached production, a model validated against physical testing, a developed test system, or a difficult diagnosed failure.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

  • Create technically rigorous, self-contained hardware engineering problems based on realistic industry or research scenarios.
  • Develop clear reference solutions using engineering calculations, simulations, scripts, experimental reasoning, or other appropriate methods.
  • Use relevant engineering software and tools to validate results when appropriate.
  • Connect first-principles reasoning with practical constraints and produce independently verifiable work.
