About The Position
Optum Tech is hiring a Senior Manager, Technical Product Management to define and execute product strategy for enterprise-scale, data-driven platforms. The position works at the intersection of business, technology, and advanced analytics, translating complex business problems into scalable product solutions with measurable outcomes. The role calls for product leadership in large, complex products and regulated environments, ideally including US Healthcare Payer systems and Data Science, AI/ML, or Generative AI products. The Senior Manager owns product vision, strategy, and multi-quarter roadmaps; leads product delivery from discovery through continuous improvement; and drives execution across complex product ecosystems and multiple teams and platforms. The role partners with Data Science and Engineering on AI-driven capabilities, collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders, and leads and mentors product managers and analysts. The position is based onsite in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The salary range is $112,700 to $193,200 annually for full-time employment. Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in product management or technical product leadership roles.
- At least 5 years of experience managing enterprise-scale, complex product ecosystems.
- At least 2 years of experience supporting payer or payment integrity.
- Experience as a Product Manager supporting Data Science, software applications, and/or AI projects.
- Experience in product lifecycle management, Agile methodologies, and modern product practices.
- Experience translating business needs into product requirements, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
- Experience supporting distributed systems, data platforms, and modern application architectures.
- Ability to work onsite in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working on Data Science, AI/ML, or Generative AI products.
- Experience in the US Healthcare Payer domain, particularly claims lifecycle, Payment Integrity or cost containment, risk adjustment, or provider analytics.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments.
Responsibilities
- Define and own product vision, strategy, and multi-quarter roadmaps aligned with enterprise priorities.
- Translate business objectives into product initiatives with clear outcomes, KPIs, and success metrics.
- Identify opportunities through stakeholder engagement, market insights, and data-driven analysis.
- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, including discovery, requirements, prioritization, development, launch, and continuous improvement.
- Drive execution across large-scale, complex product ecosystems involving multiple teams and platforms.
- Balance trade-offs among business value, technical feasibility, and operational constraints.
- Partner with Data Science and Engineering teams to build and scale AI/ML or Generative AI capabilities.
- Translate analytical models into usable product features and workflows that deliver business value.
- Ensure responsible, explainable, and scalable implementation of AI-driven solutions.
- Leverage enterprise-approved AI tools to improve productivity and innovation by streamlining workflows and automating repetitive tasks.
- Evaluate emerging trends to drive continuous improvement and strategic innovation.
- Collaborate with business, operations, engineering, data science, compliance, and design teams.
- Influence senior stakeholders and align cross-functional teams on product priorities and outcomes.
- Act as a thought leader and product evangelist across the organization.
- Incorporate US Healthcare Payer domain expertise, especially claims and Payment Integrity workflows, into product work.
- Drive product innovation that improves cost efficiency, claim accuracy, and operational effectiveness.
- Lead and mentor a team of product managers and analysts.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative product culture focused on outcomes and continuous improvement.
