Senior Manager, Startup Programme Management (Ideation / Incubation Programme)
About The Position
The Senior Manager, Startup Programme Management fosters the growth of early-stage technology startups at the seed and pre-seed stages, with a focus on account management and managing new initiatives. The role participates in business assessments of startup applications to the Ideation and Incubation Programmes and serves as account manager for assigned startups, identifying their needs and providing insights, guidance, and support as they navigate challenges. The position builds and maintains strong relationships with founders and relevant stakeholders, including co-development partners, mentors, trainers, and alumni. It monitors startup progress and performance, prepares regular updates and recommendation reports, and designs and implements initiatives and strategies to improve the quality of the startup pipeline and help ventures reach their next milestones. The role also fosters a collaborative, innovative team environment and performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, a STEM discipline, or another related field.
- 10 years of working experience in a technology-related industry; relevant experience in product management, supply chain management, operations, or the startup ecosystem is preferred.
- Proactive, results-driven team player with a keen interest in supporting entrepreneurship and fostering innovation in the startup landscape.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Mandarin.
Nice To Haves
- Relevant industry-domain knowledge in e-commerce, education, or Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) is an advantage.
- Higher education or professional qualifications with less experience will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Foster the growth of early-stage technology startups at the seed and pre-seed stages, focusing on account management and new initiatives.
- Participate in business assessments of applications to the Ideation and Incubation Programmes.
- Manage assigned startups as their account manager by understanding their business needs and providing insights, guidance, and help navigating challenges.
- Build trust and maintain strong relationships with startup founders and relevant stakeholders, including co-development partners, mentors, trainers, and alumni.
- Monitor the progress and performance of assigned startups and provide regular updates and recommendation reports.
- Design and implement initiatives and strategies to improve the quality of the startup pipeline and help startups progress to their next milestones.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment to drive operational excellence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
