The Admin experience is crucial for firm leaders and innovation teams to configure, govern, and scale Harvey, managing everything from workflow configuration to usage visibility. This team also owns the knowledge platform and legal connector integrations. The Platform design system is the backbone of the design team, defining AI-native ways of working and setting standards for all product teams. Unlike traditional design systems, this role will focus on a system that sets the craft bar and serves users beyond designers, enabling anyone in EPD to generate interfaces while maintaining quality and speed. The role involves owning the system that all teams build from and the AI tooling that enhances designer capabilities. The Senior Manager will report to the VP Design and be a foundational member of the Design leadership team, influencing product, team, and culture at a portfolio-wide level. This role will set the operating standard for how the team works and lay long-term foundations for the product.

Requirements

8-10+ years in Product Design
5+ years directly managing product designers
Experience owning a design system at real scale, including adoption efforts
Experience designing and shipping AI-powered or highly technical products
A strong portfolio showing leadership of complex products from concept through launch, with clear impact on users and the business
Fluency with AI tooling in personal practice and a strong opinion on its impact on design work
Proven experience leading design strategy and execution alongside Product and Engineering
Demonstrated ability to define and ship high-quality experiences in complex, ambiguous problem spaces
Excellent judgment regarding depth of focus, delegation, and pushing boundaries
Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders and customers
Deep commitment to people development and raising the craft bar across a team
Comfort operating in fast-moving environments with evolving priorities
Empathy for users, teammates, and the realities of high-stakes professional work

Responsibilities

Own Admin as a product, driving strategy and execution in partnership with Product and Engineering, focusing on how champions manage Harvey within their firms.
Work directly with customers, research, and usage data to identify pain points for champions and design solutions for workflow configuration, knowledge management, and visibility.
Align the roadmap with customer outcomes such as faster rollout, wider adoption, and demonstrable ROI for champions.
Define Harvey's design system as a set of product decisions, encoding best practices for AI-powered legal work into patterns for product teams.
Set and maintain the craft bar across interaction, systems thinking, content design, and visual execution as the product surface area grows.
Build a governance model for the design system that allows for speed and prevents fragmentation, including contribution paths, adoption expectations, and deviation guidelines.
Decide how Harvey's designers utilize AI, including tool adoption, in-house development, and defining new default workflows from problem to prototype.
Improve the efficiency and capabilities of the design team through AI tooling, enabling individual designers to achieve the output of larger teams.
Treat AI tooling as a live experiment, rigorously testing, measuring, and sharing findings across EPD.
Build, grow, and develop a team of high-craft ICs across systems, product, and prototyping.
Own organizational design, resourcing, and prioritization across different product rhythms.
Provide strategic, systems-level feedback on end-to-end flows.
Partner with design, product, and engineering leaders to evolve product development processes.
Represent Platform in high-stakes discussions with executives and customers.
Establish design decision-making processes in high-trust, high-stakes environments.
Contribute to setting the operating model for the Design leadership team and the broader organization.
