About The Position

The Senior Manager of Product Context Engineering leads the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise technology solutions that drive business growth and transformation. This role oversees a portfolio of products throughout the lifecycle, establishes context engineering and agent framework standards, and provides technical leadership to engineering teams. The Senior Manager partners with business leaders and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions while mentoring engineers, improving delivery processes, and advancing innovation across the organization.

The role leads and develops context engineers and software developers, manages product roadmaps and delivery plans, and aligns product development practices with enterprise strategy, firm policies, security standards, and architecture requirements. It also oversees product performance and application quality, communicates progress to leadership, and handles managerial responsibilities such as recruiting, performance management, coaching, career development, and workforce planning.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and five or more years managing product development teams, or a high school diploma and ten or more years of application-development-focused product development experience. Professional services experience and specified certifications are preferred. The role requires expertise in context engineering, retrieval and grounding, prompt and agent architecture, large language model systems, enterprise application architecture, cloud delivery, and security and privacy requirements. It may require work beyond standard business hours as business needs require and travel up to 10% (preferred).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Artificial Intelligence and five or more years managing product development teams; alternatively, a high school diploma and ten or more years of product development focused on application development.
• Required experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and Azure AI Search.
• Required experience with Git-based source control and collaboration platforms.
• Required experience with application programming interfaces, database systems, automated testing tools, and observability platforms.
• Required experience with Microsoft 365.
• Expert knowledge of context engineering, retrieval and grounding strategies, prompt and agent-instruction architecture, and production large language model systems.
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise application architecture, cloud delivery, software development lifecycle practices, APIs, databases, system integration, automated testing, and observability.
• Strong understanding of context windows, token economics, embeddings, vector and hybrid search, metadata filtering, re-ranking, and retrieval-quality evaluation.
• Ability to lead hands-on technical delivery, establish engineering standards and governance, and build secure, scalable, maintainable, high-quality enterprise solutions.
• Ability to translate complex business and technical knowledge into clear, structured, reusable engineering assets and communicate technical concepts effectively to business audiences.
• Ability to assess technical options and make sound decisions based on security, privacy, scalability, maintainability, cost, delivery risk, feasibility, and business value.
• Strong understanding of data privacy, information security, access controls, compliance, and auditability for AI-enabled and enterprise applications.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, listening, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution skills, including the ability to influence executive leaders, governance bodies, architecture teams, and business stakeholders.
• Ability to coach technical professionals, lead high-performing cross-functional teams, build consensus, and drive shared outcomes without relying on direct authority.
• Ability to collaborate across product, technology, architecture, security, risk, compliance, and business teams in a dynamic, complex operating environment.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives, priorities, dependencies, and competing deadlines while maintaining transparency, adaptability, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.
• Self-directed, systems-oriented approach to problem solving, learning, planning, decision-making, and execution, with sound judgment in ambiguous situations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor context engineers and software developers in designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting secure, scalable custom enterprise applications.
• Deliver and enhance innovative products that support business goals and BDO's service delivery.
• Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, and technology teams to understand business processes, define solution context, and translate strategic goals into product capabilities.
• Establish product roadmaps, delivery plans, technical priorities, milestones, budgets, timelines, and resource requirements for product development initiatives.
• Oversee enterprise applications throughout their lifecycle, including ideation, requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, support, enhancement, and retirement.
• Evaluate and prioritize product opportunities and technical approaches according to business value, effort, cost, risk, dependencies, feasibility, and expected return on investment.
• Align product development practices and delivery processes with Enterprise Development strategy, firm policies, security standards, architecture requirements, and continuous improvement objectives.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration, innovation, and informed decision-making across engineering teams, business lines, product leadership, and technology partners.
• Monitor delivery performance, application quality, operational readiness, realized business value, and stakeholder satisfaction; communicate progress and outcomes to leadership.
• Identify and escalate delivery risks, technical issues, resource constraints, dependencies, and quality concerns through appropriate governance channels.
• Perform managerial responsibilities, including recruiting, performance management, coaching, career development, workforce planning, and building high-performing teams.
• Manage and mentor the work of others on the team.
