About The Position

Mastronardi Produce is seeking a Senior Manager of Insights & Business Metrics for its Supply Chain Engineering department. This player-coach role owns the department’s KPI, dashboard, and performance-analytics strategy. The Senior Manager personally uses Anthropic’s Claude platform—including Claude.ai, Claude Code, Claude Skills, and the Model Context Protocol—as the primary toolkit for designing, building, and improving network KPI dashboards, site scorecards, and predictive-compliance models. The role also leads a distributed team of Industrial Engineer – DC Performance & Reliability positions, who use the KPI framework to diagnose root causes and coach Site GMs toward network Best-in-Class performance. The position serves as an analytical and technical bridge between distribution-center performance data and executive decision-making. It defines measurable performance standards, develops AI-enabled tools to make metrics visible near real time, and translates network trends into recommendations for the VP, Supply Chain Engineering, and executive leadership. The role partners with IT, Supply Chain Engineering, and cross-functional leaders, while championing responsible AI practices and developing the team’s analytical capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in supply chain analytics, business intelligence, or operations research, including some team-lead or project-leadership experience.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience designing and deploying AI-enabled or LLM-powered analytics applications in a business environment.
  • Demonstrable hands-on expertise with Anthropic’s Claude platform, including Claude Code, Claude Skills, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
  • Strong understanding of prompt engineering, context engineering, agentic workflow design, and responsible AI and guardrail design.
  • Experience building end-to-end AI-powered dashboards and internal tools, rather than only using AI chat interfaces.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and dashboard/report development.
  • Experience building and maintaining BI dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or Looker, and integrating them with AI-generated narrative insights.
  • Working knowledge of KPI framework design, statistical process control, and anomaly-detection techniques.
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub version control and modern software development practices.
  • Demonstrated experience hiring, coaching, and developing analytical or engineering talent.
  • Ability to set technical and analytical standards for a distributed, multi-site team without daily direct oversight of each site.
  • Experience partnering with peer Senior Manager-level leaders on cross-functional initiatives and aligning competing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of distribution-center operations, WMS/MES systems, and network performance management.
  • Ability to translate supply chain business problems into structured analytical and technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable performance improvement through metrics and analytics.
  • Ability to structure ambiguous business problems into quantifiable models and defensible, data-backed recommendations.
  • Ability to connect analytics and metrics decisions to P&L, service levels, and strategic objectives.
  • Strong communication skills for translating technical and analytical work into clear narratives for operational, IT, and executive audiences.
  • Ability to move from idea to working dashboard to measurable business outcome with minimal supervision.
  • Sound judgment regarding data privacy, model limitations, and human-in-the-loop controls.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience integrating Claude or other LLMs with enterprise ERP platforms and supply chain execution systems such as WMS, MES, or TMS.
  • Experience with advanced planning platforms such as o9 Solutions, Blue Yonder, Oracle Demantra, Kinaxis, or RapidResponse.
  • Experience in fresh produce, food and beverage, perishables, or CPG industries.
  • APICS CSCP, CPIM, or CLTD certification, or Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
  • Experience deploying analytics applications in a cloud environment such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Strongly preferred: demonstrable hands-on expertise with Claude and LLM-assisted analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end design of network KPI frameworks covering measures such as labor productivity, throughput, order accuracy, on-time performance, and inventory accuracy.
  • Use Claude.ai, Claude Code, Claude Skills, and the Anthropic API to design, prototype, and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and automated reporting.
  • Architect integrations between analytics tools and WMS (MPL Floor), MES, and the enterprise data warehouse.
  • Build and maintain reusable Claude Skills for site scorecards, root-cause pattern detection, corrective-action tracking, and network benchmarking.
  • Develop anomaly detection and predictive compliance-risk scoring to flag emerging distribution-center performance issues.
  • Establish consistent data-governance standards and KPI definitions across distribution centers and dashboards.
  • Directly lead, coach, and develop 2–3 distributed Industrial Engineer – DC Performance & Reliability positions, with the team growing as network scale requires.
  • Set KPI definitions, dashboard requirements, and site-scorecard standards for recurring DC metrics compliance reviews with Site GMs.
  • Review root-cause analyses and corrective-action plans for analytical rigor and consistency before escalation.
  • Establish onboarding, training, and career-development pathways for the Industrial Engineer team, including guidance on AI-assisted analytics.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones and portfolio reviews to track site trends, corrective-action closure, and professional development.
  • Translate network KPI trends, root-cause findings, and corrective-action status into executive-ready briefings for the VP, Supply Chain Engineering, and cross-functional leaders.
  • Partner with the IT systems implementation team and Supply Chain Engineering Project Manager to align KPI and dashboard work with WMS/MES rollout sequencing and process-mapping initiatives.
  • Present network performance trends and resourcing or prioritization recommendations to the VP and executive leadership team.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert and internal consultant on AI-enabled analytics for Operations, IT, Finance, and Sales stakeholders.
  • Maintain hands-on fluency with Claude and personally prototype and validate analytics capabilities before scaling them to the team.
  • Champion responsible AI practices, including data privacy, awareness of model limitations, and human-in-the-loop review.
  • Evaluate and pilot AI-enabled analytics techniques, including agentic workflows, predictive modeling, and natural-language reporting.
  • Mentor Industrial Engineers and peer analysts on LLM-assisted development practices and responsible AI use.
  • Ensure each network dashboard metric has a clear owner, defined calculation, and decision it informs.
