About The Position

The Business Development Team is the growth engine of Walmart's transportation services platform. The team is responsible for identifying and securing new shipper relationships, expanding market presence, and building a robust pipeline of business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or related field and 3 years’ experience in business development, market development, product development, or relevant area OR 5 years’ experience in business development, market development, product development, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and close new shipper relationships to drive portfolio growth and revenue expansion.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies that open new verticals and geographies.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and competitive dynamics to position Walmart as the partner of choice.
  • Build and nurture a high-value pipeline of prospective shipper relationships through strategic outreach, networking, and industry engagement.
  • Cultivate executive-level relationships that accelerate deal velocity and deepen long-term partnerships.
  • Deliver compelling business reviews and proposals that demonstrate Walmart's value proposition and drive strategic growth initiatives forward.
  • Leverage market data, competitive insights, and customer analytics to identify high-potential growth opportunities and refine targeting strategies.
  • Develop reporting that not only presents pipeline and revenue analyses in a consumable manner but draws actionable insights to inform strategic business development decisions.
  • Develop cross-functional relationships to ensure the shipper relationships are aligned across the organization.
  • Provide Merchandising with effective insights in addition to collaborative engagement with shippers on mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Navigate complex stakeholder environments with professionalism and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Leverage expertise in transportation products and technology to drive revenue growth.
  • Execute strategic prospecting to identify and engage new business opportunities.
  • Cultivate partnerships to expand market reach and strengthen business relationships.
  • Lead go-to-market strategies to successfully launch transportation solutions.
  • Thrive in building initiatives from the ground up and establishing new processes.
