About the position
Stord is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to drive data analytics and reporting for internal stakeholders. The role involves using statistical analysis, modeling, and other methods to analyze information and develop practical solutions to business problems. The Senior Financial Analyst will work cross-functionally with the FP&A, Accounting, and Operations teams, leveraging analytic tools and collaborating with technology and operations partners to align financial and operational data. The ideal candidate will have a background in finance, strong experience in data analytics and BI, and the ability to synthesize financial and operational data into actionable insights.
Responsibilities
- Manage analytical projects from start through completion, including conducting intake interviews, assessing data, designing solutions, analyzing data, and presenting results
- Define, transform, and structure data from internal and external platforms for efficiency, stability, and reliability
- Develop operational reports, forecasts, and dashboards for various business units
- Collect, analyze, and publish data for KPI reporting, creating data visualizations and reports
- Identify trends and patterns in financial and operational data
- Maintain effective and timely communication between FP&A team members and internal business partners
- Review and analyze activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward goals and strategic objectives
- Work autonomously and creatively problem solve
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Provide quick turnaround on analysis requests and provide status updates on key projects
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, or Engineering
- 2-4 years of experience leveraging databases and dashboards for data-driven business decisions
- Fluent in SQL, Python/R programming languages
- Experience with Business Intelligence Tools (Domo, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
- Ability to compile and analyze large quantities of data.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems or Engineering
- 2-4 years of experience leveraging databases and dashboards using all relevant data to inform business decisions
- Fluent in SQL, and Python/R programming languages
- Experience with Business Intelligence Tools such as Domo, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
- Ability to compile and analyze large quantities of data
- Strong analytical skills and ability to develop practical solutions to business problems
- Ability to manage analytical projects from start to completion
- Ability to define, transform, and structure data for efficiency, stability, and reliability
- Experience in developing operational reports, forecasts, and dashboards
- Ability to identify trends and patterns in financial and operational data
