About the position
The Business Applications Manager at Stord is responsible for managing and improving the company's internal tech stack, which includes approximately 30 applications. They will drive the design and implementation of technology-based solutions, process improvements, and automation across all functions within the organization. Additionally, the Business Applications Manager will manage a team of resources and work closely with the Enterprise Architect to ensure the implementation of the systems roadmap. This role requires a hands-on approach to system management, a focus on minimizing technical debt, and the ability to communicate the business value of technology efforts to non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement within Stord's business systems
- Work with subject matter experts to build technology-based solutions for business problems
- Manage the service delivery process for core applications and peripheral systems
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Architect to implement the systems roadmap
- Manage a team of functional and technical systems resources
- Implement and improve a planning, development, documentation, and project management framework
- Educate core stakeholders on the team's contributions to the business
- Get hands-on with Stord's systems while effectively communicating the business value
- Minimize technical debt and prioritize projects with high return on investment
- Navigate stakeholders towards use case development aligned with strategic goals
- Manage project schedules and communicate issues to stakeholders
- Learn and familiarize oneself with Stord's systems
- Apply various implementation methodologies, software development methodologies, and project management approaches
Requirements
- Comfortable working with core systems such as Salesforce, Netsuite, Coupa, and Zendesk
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve day-to-day bugs and ongoing large projects
- Experience managing service delivery process for core applications and peripheral systems
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture and systems roadmap implementation
- Strong leadership skills to manage a team of functional and technical resources
- Knowledge of planning, development, documentation, and project management frameworks
- Ability to translate technical jargon into clear business value for stakeholders
- Passionate about minimizing technical debt and prioritizing high return on investment projects
- Skilled in navigating stakeholders and aligning solutions with strategic goals
- Proficient in managing project schedules and communicating issues to stakeholders
- Eagerness to learn new systems and adapt quickly
- Experience with various implementation methodologies, software development methodologies, and project management
