About The Position

Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center is a 444-bed hospital and part of Covenant Health, East Tennessee’s largest nonprofit health system. The Senior Facility Services Technician performs or directs general, routine, and highly technical maintenance, construction, and repair activities. The role requires broad knowledge across crafts and skills at least at journey level in the specialty area. The position is full-time, with 80 hours per pay period on the day shift, and requires local travel.

Requirements

Three to five years of experience performing maintenance, construction, or repair activities.
A valid Tennessee Class D driver's license and state-mandated minimum insurance coverage.
Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at hire and throughout employment.
Senior Facility Services Technicians whose responsibilities require HVAC duties must hold an EPA universal technician license.

Responsibilities

Log files and records completely and properly, including computing the time spent and materials and supplies used for each completed requisition or work order.
Organize and maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
Recommend purchases of new equipment.
Assist in developing and implementing programs to maintain facility physical plants, grounds, and equipment through effective use of personnel.
Assign individual tasks, requisition supplies and equipment, and oversee contractor work.
Train and guide technicians in unfamiliar tasks.
Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations.
Lead challenging group projects.
Assist in all areas of specialty as needed.
Travel locally as required.
Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Complete required annual education assignments.
Work toward achieving goals and objectives and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
