About The Position

VPG is seeking a full-time Senior Engineer - Assembly & NPD Quality to join its Quality team in Oragadam, Chennai. The role focuses on quality for assembly cells and new product development (NPD) in the electronics manufacturing services (EMS) industry. The engineer will work to deliver zero-defect products, resolve customer claims, support product qualification and customer PPAP approval, and drive continual improvement in quality systems and audit performance. Specialized PCBA and electronic-products failure analysis is required.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electrical and Electronics.
• At least 8 years of experience in NPD, in-process, and customer quality in the EMS industry.
• At least 8 years of experience handling NPD quality assurance and customer complaint analysis.
• Knowledge of 8D, people handling, failure analysis, customer handling, audits, EMS products, ISO 9001:2015, and IATF.
• IPC certification.
• Expertise in soldering.
• Technical knowledge of SMT processes and APQP.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, SPC, MSA, 7 QC Tools, control plans, and PPAP.

Responsibilities

• Enhance customer satisfaction by delivering zero-defect products and following customer claims through to closure.
• Perform diagnosis, troubleshooting analysis, and root cause and corrective action (RCCA) using quality tools and statistical techniques; implement robust actions to reduce scrap costs in the respective cells.
• Lead quality activities for respective cells and validate cell quality objectives and results.
• Implement product and process specifications in accordance with EMS industry norms.
• Qualify new products and ensure timely customer PPAP approval.
• Drive continual improvement activities for Integrated Quality Management Systems, including IATF and ISO, and support customer and internal audits.
• Conduct failure analysis for PCBA and electronic products.
