Senior Developer (Multiple Positions Available)
About The Position
SAP Labs, LLC is hiring a Senior Developer in Palo Alto, California, to develop complex product features as part of a development team, with a focus on design, coding, testing, and quality assurance. The role resolves complex issues, supports others, drives topics to resolution with quality and efficiency, and shares technical and product expertise across teams. The developer continually improves agile software engineering practices, expands skills beyond their core focus, and applies advanced knowledge of products, technology, development processes, and product standards. When acting as a Scrum Master in the LEAN context, the role promotes and supports Scrum, serves as a servant-leader to the Product Owner and Development Team, facilitates Scrum events, coaches the team in self-organization, and removes impediments to the team's progress. The position follows a hybrid work model.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, plus six years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation; alternatively, a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in one of these fields, plus four years of experience.
- Four years of experience with SAP Fiori Elements and SAPUI5 web development.
- Four years of experience with SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) and OData.
- Four years of experience with cloud-native microservices and distributed systems, including Spring Boot, Java, Node.js, and TypeScript.
- Four years of experience with federated and scalable databases, including SAP HANA, Redis, and NoSQL.
- Four years of experience with cloud development on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and Microsoft Azure.
- Four years of experience with workflow orchestration using Temporal and Databricks.
- Four years of experience with AI development using SAP AI Core and Fiori AI.
- Four years of experience with cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes, Docker, BTP Kyma, BTP Cloud Foundry, and Istio.
- Four years of experience with performance testing of cloud applications using Gatling and SUPA.
- Four years of experience with automated CI/CD pipelines using Helm, Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps.
Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, and provide quality assurance for complex product features.
- Resolve complex issues within the area of expertise and support others in resolving issues.
- Take initiative and drive topics to resolution with quality, speed, reliability, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with others and share expertise to help ensure product success.
- Continuously improve work methods and agile software engineering skills.
- Develop skills beyond the core functional focus and take on other tasks for the benefit of the team.
- Share advanced product and technical knowledge within and across teams and the organization.
- When acting as Scrum Master in the LEAN context, promote and support Scrum and help others understand its theory, practices, rules, and values.
- Serve as a servant-leader for the Product Owner and Development Team when acting as Scrum Master.
- Facilitate Scrum events on request or as required.
- Coach the Development Team in self-organization and remove impediments to its progress.
