About The Position
SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Developer at its Palo Alto, California location to design, develop, and operate scalable, secure, and reliable enterprise applications. The role delivers application implementations within specifications and project plans, including requirements analysis, design documentation, error analysis, and removal. Work generally extends, modifies, or adapts existing designs and may also involve developing new subsystems. The Developer designs, develops, tests, deploys, delivers, and maintains applications that meet business objectives and user needs. The position collaborates with product, design, and cloud operations teams to define and ship features; optimizes and automates software delivery and testing; and troubleshoots and enhances applications to improve performance, security, and user experience. Responsibilities also include root-cause analysis and preventive actions, code reviews, and producing clean, maintainable, well-documented, efficient code. The position is hybrid. The annual base salary range is $172,369–$206,460, and the targeted combined compensation range, including the variable incentive target, is $172,369–$229,400. Actual compensation depends on factors including education, skills, experience, role scope, and location.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, and five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation; alternatively, a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in one of these fields and three years of experience.
- Three years of experience with Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Three years designing and developing distributed microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js or Express.js, and Python.
- Three years designing and implementing enterprise micro-frontend platforms using React.js, Angular, and TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Three years building secure enterprise integration systems connecting internal platforms with external services using REST or GraphQL APIs, OAuth2 authentication, TLS encryption, and enterprise identity management.
- Three years managing AWS and Azure operations using EC2, S3, RDS, and Terraform for scalable automated infrastructure deployment.
- Three years deploying and managing the lifecycle of containerized distributed services using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Three years developing enterprise data persistence layers supporting Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL relational databases.
- Three years designing and developing workflow orchestration platforms for automated business processes using event-driven architectures and Kafka.
- Three years leading software platform delivery, including system architecture design, engineering planning, and code reviews.
- Three years using Agile development frameworks to manage iterative delivery of distributed software systems, including sprint planning, system design, and development cycles.
Responsibilities

- Optimize and automate software delivery processes, including automated testing at multiple levels.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance applications to improve performance and security and resolve customer issues, including root-cause analysis and preventive actions.
- Provide application implementation services within specifications and project plans.
- Perform requirements analysis, prepare design documentation, and conduct error analysis and removal.
- Lead software platform delivery, including system architecture design, engineering planning, and code reviews.
