About The Position
SAP America, Inc. is hiring multiple Developers at its Palo Alto, California location. The role designs and develops robust cloud-native applications using the SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) model. The position develops SAP applications and integrations, implements generative AI and distributed data workflows, automates SAP BTP infrastructure, and evaluates distributed systems and database scaling. The work model is hybrid. The Developer works with SAP BTP, SAP HDI, ABAP Cloud, SAP Event Mesh, SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, SAP Build, SAP Datasphere, SAP AI Core, SAP FedML, SAP Integration Suite, PySpark, Databricks, Apache Arrow Flight, PostgreSQL, and related cloud tooling. Travel is not required. The annual base salary range is $172,369–$206,460; the targeted combined compensation range, including the variable incentive target, is $172,369–$229,400. Actual compensation depends on factors including education, skills, experience, role scope, and location.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation; alternatively, a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in one of those fields and three years of relevant experience.
- At least three years of experience developing SAP BTP applications using the SAP CAP model.
- At least three years of experience performing CDS/CQL data modeling for SAP HDI containers.
- At least three years of experience creating ABAP Cloud extensions integrated via SAP Event Mesh.
- At least three years of experience packaging applications using Cloud MTA build tools.
- At least three years of experience implementing Generative AI workflows for business-process automation using SAP Build and distributed data processing using SAP Datasphere.
- At least three years of experience enforcing data privacy with SAP HANA Data Anonymization and deploying fine-tuned models to SAP AI Core using SAP FedML.
- At least three years of experience developing secure enterprise integration flows (iFlows) in SAP Integration Suite, using Groovy for message processing and enforcing OIDC principal propagation via SAP Cloud Connector and XSUAA.
- At least three years of experience automating SAP BTP infrastructure provisioning for Kyma and Cloud Foundry using BTP CLI scripts to manage service instances, subaccount subscriptions, role collections, and entitlements.
- At least three years of experience developing scalable SAP Fiori applications using SAPUI5, custom XML views and fragments, OData V4 model binding, routing configurations, and SAP Cloud SDK integration.
- At least three years of experience implementing scalable data-processing pipelines with PySpark and Databricks and using Apache Arrow Flight for real-time, zero-copy interoperability across data lakehouses.
- At least one year of experience developing hands-on proof-of-concepts to evaluate distributed-system performance using JMeter, implementing multi-region PostgreSQL replication, and validating horizontal scaling in cloud-based clusters.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust cloud-native applications using the SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) model.
- Perform complex CDS/CQL data modeling for SAP HDI containers and package deployments using Cloud MTA build tools.
- Build ABAP Cloud extensions and facilitate real-time communication via SAP Event Mesh.
- Develop scalable SAP Fiori applications using SAPUI5, custom XML views, OData V4 binding, and SAP Cloud SDK integration.
- Architect and implement Generative AI workflows within SAP Build to automate business processes.
- Orchestrate distributed data processing through SAP Datasphere and deploy fine-tuned models to SAP AI Core using SAP FedML.
- Build data pipelines using PySpark and Databricks, using Apache Arrow Flight for high-speed, zero-copy data interoperability.
- Apply SAP HANA Data Anonymization to support data governance and privacy.
- Automate SAP BTP infrastructure provisioning for Kyma and Cloud Foundry using BTP CLI scripts to manage subaccounts, entitlements, and service instances.
- Develop secure enterprise integration flows in SAP Integration Suite, including Groovy message-processing scripts and OIDC principal propagation via SAP Cloud Connector and XSUAA.
- Conduct hands-on proof-of-concepts to benchmark distributed systems using JMeter.
- Design multi-region PostgreSQL database replication strategies and validate horizontal scaling logic in cloud clusters.
