About The Position

This role serves as a Senior Coordinator, HR Business Partnering for a 12-month contract. The position is a front-line representative for colleague inquiries and concerns, supporting the rollout of various HR programs and initiatives such as assessments, culture, colleague engagement surveys, and HRIS programs. The role provides advice, direction, and support to the client group on employee relations, company policies, recruitment, performance management, job evaluations, terminations, training and development, and benefits administration. The Senior Coordinator will partner with the client group on a day-to-day basis, offering guidance on employment-related issues, including policy interpretation, recruitment, training, and benefits administration. The position involves resolving sensitive colleague issues, researching HR-related inquiries, and compiling data for compensation recommendations, partnering with the compensation group for annual incentive and merit review processes. Ensuring legal compliance through assessment and implementation of federal and provincial HR requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings are key responsibilities. The role also contributes to continuous improvement and standard methodologies to influence HR strategies, resolves vital payroll inquiries, and assists the HR team with research, analysis, and implementation of programs, reports, and projects. A commitment to promoting a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging is expected. The role requires being in the office 4 days a week at 2 Fraser Avenue.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education preferably in Human Resources.
  • Obtained (or working towards) Human Resources Certification (CHRP or CHRL).
  • 3 – 5 years progressive HR experience.
  • Coordinating departmental programs and initiatives is a definite asset.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information.
  • Solid computer skills required in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and problem solving skills.
  • Customer focused and able to nurture positive customer relationships.
  • Highly organized and has a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills and superior ability to problem-solve.
  • Exceptional commitment to customer service with strong sense of urgency and ability to respond in a timely manner.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, requiring little direction.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the client group to provide advice and counsel to colleagues on HR-related issues and concerns.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and advice to the client regarding employment-related issues, including interpretation of company policies & procedures, recruitment, training & development, and benefits administration.
  • Resolve sensitive colleague issues.
  • Research answers and make inquiries of HR-related issues.
  • Compile data for compensation recommendations and partner with the compensation group to manage the administration for the annual incentive and merit review process for the client.
  • Ensure legal compliance by assessing and implementing applicable HR federal and provincial requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records and representing the organization at hearings.
