About The Position

As a (Senior) Consultant Data & AI, you will guide our clients from the initial question through architecture to the concrete implementation of modern Data & AI solutions. You will navigate confidently between consulting, architecture, and technology, taking responsibility for key components of our client projects. This involves more than just implementing technical requirements; you will question existing approaches, develop viable future states, and help our clients sustainably anchor Data & AI within their organization and system landscape. In detail, you will: - Advise clients holistically on Data & AI issues and jointly develop suitable solution approaches. - Design and further develop modern Data & AI platforms and target architectures, particularly based on Databricks and Azure or AWS. - Analyze complex functional and technical requirements and translate them into viable architecture, data, and integration concepts. - Support our clients in areas such as Data Strategy, Cloud Data Platforms, Lakehouse, Data Governance, Analytics, and AI. - Independently take on workstreams or central project components, structuring and managing their implementation. - Collaborate closely with business departments, IT, Data Teams, and management, bringing together diverse requirements. - Prepare, evaluate, and jointly make architectural decisions with our clients. - Design and conduct workshops, assessments, architecture sessions, and Proofs of Concept. - Provide technical and functional support to less experienced colleagues and actively share your knowledge within the team. - Co-develop best practices, standards, and reusable solution approaches for our projects. - Advise clients on the further development of existing platforms regarding scalability, governance, performance, security, and costs. - Support sales in client meetings, solution designs, proposal creation, and the development of new client projects.

Requirements

Enjoy structuring complex Data & AI topics, making technical decisions understandable, and developing sustainable solutions together with clients.
Ability to work conceptually as well as dive deep technically.
Several years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Data & AI Consulting, or a comparable role.
Well-founded experience in the design and implementation of modern cloud data platforms.
Very good knowledge of Databricks and experience with at least one cloud platform, ideally Azure or AWS.
A very good understanding of modern data architectures and concepts such as Lakehouse, Medallion Architecture, Data Mesh, or Data Products.
Experience in data modeling, data integration, and data governance.
Good knowledge of Python, SQL, Spark, or PySpark.
The ability to translate complex functional and technical requirements into understandable and implementable solution concepts.
Experience in independently managing workstreams, sub-projects, or larger work packages.
Confident demeanor towards business departments, IT, and management.
Enjoy moderating workshops and working with clients on technical and strategic topics.
A completed degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a comparable qualification.
A structured, self-reliant, and solution-oriented way of working.
Very good German language skills and good English language skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Microsoft Fabric or other modern Data & AI platforms.
Experience with Data Strategy, Target Operating Models, or Data Governance concepts.
Knowledge in Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and Cloud Architecture.
Experience with Machine Learning, GenAI, RAG, or AI platform architectures.
Initial experience in functional leadership or mentoring colleagues.
Experience in presales, proposal creation, or client development.
