About The Position

The Senior Communications Designer turns complex, often sensitive technology into clear, memorable stories that help audiences understand and act. Working with Communications, Business Development, engineers, and executives, the designer identifies what matters, structures the narrative, and creates distinctive presentations aligned with the True Anomaly brand. Work includes capability and company presentations, customer briefings, business development materials, executive communications, and keynotes. This is a hands-on design role requiring a strong creative point of view and meticulous craft. The designer develops visual concepts, imagery, and pacing to make ideas resonate; follows existing brand guidelines while helping extend the system when projects require new approaches; and creates editable templates and asset libraries for non-designers. The role also involves handling proprietary and export-controlled information according to company policy and supporting live delivery for executive and keynote presentations as needed. The position is hybrid, with successful candidates located near Denver, Colorado, or Long Beach, California; some work must be done onsite. Base salary is $105,000–$205,000, with equity and benefits. Actual level and salary depend on job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience. The position is open until filled. Applicants must meet applicable U.S. Government space technology export authorization requirements.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of experience in communication, presentation, information, or brand design, including substantial presentation work and a record of leading complex, high-visibility projects.
  • A portfolio demonstrating excellent visual craft and the ability to turn complex or incomplete information into a clear, persuasive story; a portfolio link is required.
  • Where possible, portfolio submissions should show starting material alongside finished work and explain the applicant’s specific contribution; anonymized or redacted examples are welcome.
  • Strong editorial judgment, including the ability to identify the main point and decide what to emphasize, simplify, sequence, or cut.
  • Experience working directly with technical experts, senior stakeholders, and business development or sales teams, including developing the narrative before design begins.
  • Experience handling sensitive, proprietary, or controlled information, or the discipline to learn quickly.
  • Excellent typography, layout, data visualization, and diagramming skills.
  • Experience designing within an established brand system, creating components when needed, and building reusable templates for non-designers.
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Figma, including editable charts, master layouts, and reliable file handoff.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where functions and workflows are still being built.
  • Genuine interest in aerospace, defense, or national security; domain expertise is not required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations under applicable space technology export regulations.
