About The Position

The Town of Marana is seeking a Visual Communications Designer in the Communications Division of the Town Manager's Office. This full-time role contributes to communication and marketing materials that shape how the community sees, experiences, and connects with the Town. The designer collaborates with departments across Town operations, including public safety, recreation, development services, utilities, and internal services. Work is highly visible in places such as parks, videos, events, and Town facilities. The position helps uphold and evolve the Town’s brand, reflecting the professionalism and integrity of Marana’s public services. The designer supports the Senior Visual Communications Designer in implementing the Town’s brand management and marketing strategy. The role creates printed and digital materials for branding, events, programs, and campaigns, and works with department representatives to plan and deliver projects. Alternative work schedules and scheduled telework may be available.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; relevant professional experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
More than three years of experience in the creative design field, with a strong portfolio demonstrating knowledge of design principles and techniques, composition, typography, communication, and concept definition, or experience in a closely related field.
Completion of the Town of Marana background check.
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform essential functions may be considered.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Support the Senior Visual Communications Designer in implementing the Town of Marana brand management and marketing strategy.
Work with departments to create visual concepts promoting Town programs, initiatives, and services.
Serve on internal and external committees or task forces, providing visual design expertise and supporting brand consistency and clear, engaging materials.
Design and produce printed and digital materials, including logos, icons, video graphics, and content for web, intranet, and mobile platforms.
Provide creative input and make informed choices about style, color, and composition to maintain visual consistency and brand alignment.
Collaborate with department representatives to plan, schedule, and complete projects.
Provide cost estimates, recommend production methods, and evaluate themes, target audiences, budgets, and timelines.
Contribute to organizing and maintaining the Town photo repository.
