The Senior Designer prepares detailed electronic working plans, charts, and scale drawings for railings and architectural projects using observations, measurements, sketches, and specifications. The role produces design specifications—including parts lists and cost information—using dedicated computer software, and collaborates with Project Managers and Fabrication Managers to select cost-effective materials and construction techniques. The position develops custom railing designs from elevation sketches, performs basic computations related to layouts and material strength, and maintains digital design files for projects. It also provides technical guidance to staff, coordinates with other departments on equipment and material requirements, and revises computer-aided designs to reflect changes made during construction. The Senior Designer contributes to design concepts and project teams, reviews plans and technical reports, completes documentation packages and drawing sets, solves product design issues, and helps ensure the quality of the team's design and graphic work. Other related duties may be assigned.
