About The Position

The Senior Capital Management Analyst supports the Company’s Capital Management function, which is responsible for developing and executing the Company’s approach for raising the capital resources it needs to execute its go-to-market strategy while at the same time managing within its risk appetite. This role will provide analytical, operational, and project support for capital management and strategic initiatives; treaty compliance, administration, and analysis; and financial risk management. Success in this role will require strong research, analysis, and presentation (verbal and written) skills; program/project management skills; and the ability to work constructively with colleagues and external parties. This role leverages knowledge of the US life insurance industry including capital sources and solutions (including financial reinsurance, surplus notes, sidecars, debt financing, lines of credit); and applies knowledge of regulatory and accounting regimes (including US Statutory Accounting (“US Stat”), Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (“EBS”), and IFRS 17 and US GAAP) to inform strategic decision-making and optimize capital management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with evidence of analytic and quantitative problem-solving skills (e.g., major or coursework in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Sciences, Engineering).
  • 5+ years of experience, life insurance industry experience helpful.
  • Demonstrates a strong interest in professional development and learning through experience.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with colleagues across various functions as well as with external parties.
  • Applies strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Utilizes advanced proficiency in Microsoft suite and emerging technologies (including AI applications).
  • Communicates complex concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Adapts quickly to evolving priorities.
  • Delivers high-quality results in ambiguous or challenging situations.
  • Leads or manages large-scale projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Achieved or actively working toward relevant professional credential(s) such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), actuary (ASA or FSA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of capital management and strategic initiatives, including project management and process documentation activities.
  • Develop and deliver technical papers, committee reports, and board reports associated with the Capital Management function.
  • Conduct in-depth research and financial analysis on capital management strategies, market trends, and industry/competitor performance (including ad hoc special research projects).
  • Oversee compliance with inforce transaction requirements, ensuring adherence to treaty terms and proactively mitigating operational and financial risk.
  • Lead treaty delivery administration requirements, ensuring timely and accurate execution of deliverables and alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Evaluate inforce transactions performance against expectations, providing insights, identifying variances, and recommend enhancements to improve financial outcomes and operational effectiveness.
  • Support regulatory compliance efforts, including the preparation and review of filings related to Capital Management activities.
  • Author and present financial risk management analyses, technical papers, and reporting that supports enterprise risk frameworks and governance.
  • Monitor and assess counterparty financial strength and credit risk exposure, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate risk and protect the organization’s financial position.
  • Coach lower-level team members through ongoing feedback, training, and knowledge sharing to build capability and confidence.
  • Any other projects, as assigned.
