Senior Business Systems Analyst

Snowflake•Dublin, CA
•$144,000 - $189,000

About The Position

Snowflake is hiring a Senior Business Systems Analyst for its Spend Management Ops team. The team supports Accounts Payable, Travel & Expense, Procurement Contracts, Sourcing, and Procurement by building AI-driven solutions, managing project delivery, stewarding supporting data, and developing roadmaps. It is being built from the ground up, with analysts partnering with domain teams to co-own roadmaps and shape solutions rather than simply responding to requests. This IC4 individual-contributor role calls for deep, hands-on experience in either Travel & Expense or Procurement & Sourcing, together with the ability to work across business processes and technical systems. The analyst will take on ambiguous, higher-risk work, help determine what should be built, and translate domain knowledge into process improvements, automation, and AI-driven solutions. Success involves shaping priorities, delivering with minimal guidance, setting technical patterns for the domain, and influencing colleagues across the team.

Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on experience in Travel & Expense or Procurement & Sourcing, sufficient to be credible with practitioners in that domain.
  • Ability to work across business processes and technical design, including with domain teams and Engineering, ET, or BI.
  • Track record of delivering solutions to ambiguous problems, such as process redesign, workflow automation, or AI-driven tooling, with minimal guidance.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams, including ET, Engineering, BI, and vendors, to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Experience with data validation and production support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain difficult tradeoffs or escalations clearly enough to support confident decisions.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and building processes as work progresses.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Snowflake, SQL, Streamlit, or other data and AI tools used to build and steward Spend Management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Take on higher-ambiguity, higher-risk work in Travel & Expense or Procurement & Sourcing with minimal hand-holding.
  • Proactively manage cross-team dependencies with Engineering, BI, and supported domain teams.
  • Unblock other people's delivery as well as deliver individual work.
  • Shape stakeholder requests and advise on prioritization tradeoffs, including explaining when not to pursue a request.
  • Operate as a de facto extension of the supported domain team.
  • Scope and deliver solutions to ambiguous problems, including process redesign, automation, and AI-driven tooling.
  • Evaluate whether the underlying process should change before recommending a system build.
  • Establish technical patterns for the domain that are adopted by others on the team.
  • Resolve ambiguity independently, escalating only genuinely difficult decisions with a well-framed recommendation.
  • Frame decisions so colleagues can reuse the same reasoning.
  • Mentor or unblock colleagues in adjacent domains and introduce approaches adopted elsewhere on the team.
  • Serve as a go-to resource for a specific class of Travel & Expense or Procurement & Sourcing problems.
