About The Position

Under general direction, the Senior Business Systems Analyst defines the scope, objectives, and requirements for assigned systems projects and initiatives. The role applies technical expertise and business knowledge to solve complex business challenges through enterprise application solutions, including designing, developing, configuring, testing, debugging, documenting, and supporting those solutions. Responsibilities span requirements analysis, solution design, technical specifications, quality assurance, implementation support, team mentoring, and ensuring successful delivery and user satisfaction.

This is an onsite role based in Waukegan, Illinois, and is not a remote opportunity. Travel is required 25% of the time. The position involves prolonged sitting and frequent keyboard use.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of overall experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in application systems analysis, software development, business systems, enterprise applications, or solution delivery.
• Experience defining requirements, developing specifications, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with ERP, Supply Chain Planning Systems, SAP IBP, SAP, Oracle, or other enterprise platforms.
• Experience supporting Serialization, Track & Trace, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Logistics, Distribution, or Supply Chain Execution platforms.
• Experience mentoring junior resources and leading solution delivery activities.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and define system scope, objectives, and requirements.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into application solutions.
• Prepare detailed functional and technical specifications.
• Design scalable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Evaluate existing systems and recommend enhancements and process improvements.
• Analyze and support integrations between enterprise applications and external platforms.
• Lead application design, configuration, development oversight, testing, debugging, and implementation activities.
• Coordinate with development, infrastructure, and architecture teams to deliver solutions.
• Estimate effort, resource requirements, timelines, and technical impacts of proposed solutions.
• Ensure adherence to development standards, documentation requirements, and best practices.
• Support deployment and production stabilization activities.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of system designs, configurations, code, test results, and documentation.
• Ensure traceability from requirements through solution delivery.
• Support compliance, validation, governance, and audit-readiness requirements.
• Promote continuous improvement of application support and development processes.
• Respond to complex user and customer questions; troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve application issues.
• Partner with business process owners to ensure solutions meet operational needs.
• Coordinate with external vendors and business partners to resolve issues and support system enhancements.
• Deliver knowledge transfer and training related to implemented systems and processes.
• Direct, monitor, and review the work of team members and junior consultants; provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance.
• Assist in project planning and execution and contribute to project completion, solution quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Act as application owner for assigned systems and support lifecycle management activities.
